I've asked in the travel forum also, with minimal response that helps me... this thread gets a lot more traffic.

has anyone flown with their solo, esp internationally? checked or carry on only.

concerned bc it looks kinda suspicious, even if the documentation is with it. other thoughts? TIA. I have the newest model Solo, btw...

ETA: looked at the on planes thread. not a whole lot of international experiences there. if you have had an experience, pls post it or whatnot.

I Wonder how many solo uses hit their solo at heat setting 7 and ignore the lower temps? I know tons love setting 4 - 5 ... I guess I prefer the higher temps. I've had my solo for 2 months now and after lots of experimenting find I get the most satisfying hits at the solos highest temp. No water just straight. The flavor is gone after 2-3 hits but I can keep blowing clouds for another 4 draws.

Hey bro, cn i ride in yer cloud? That's the beaut of SOLO - it lets enny1 vape in enny manner & they're all polite  if you have some sweet-smeller buds, give a taste @ the lower levels, nice easy long sweet deep fragrant terpene bliss :leaf: 'n' if you don't enjoy, it wasn't a lotta waste  :hmm:

Some need the lower temperatures for their medical needs. Some like higher temperatures. I can't go higher than 4? The flavor being too harsh is my indicator. If you need higher go higher.
We all have different needs!

Yeah mate. I've tried it on the lower settings and it wasn't for me. The beauty of the solo .. so very versatile. Such a beast.

There are likely small ABV particles in the Solo as well as some possible trace resins that you may not be able to totally clean. If you carefully remove the appropriate screws to get the housing off you may see some buildup of ABV which may have otherwise gone unnoticed by you but maybe not by a drug dog. You have to also consider the consequences of being caught, they are very harsh in some places. Perhaps this would be a good time to invest in a cheaper option, perhaps a Flowermate? Relatively cheap and it works well, it may be a safer option to consider. Or how about a Vapor Genie Coil? Personally I would not fly internationally with any of my gear.

I've been on a high-temp kick these last few days, usually starting my sessions at 5-6 through water. Material is finely ground and my GonG stem is reduced by 1/2 size pushing the material closer to the heater. It's giving me excellent clouds for such a small device. I've got some kief that half-melts, when I sprinkle a bit on top it melts into a little gooey puck  I like to savor that dry at lower temperatures because the taste is really fantastic. Personally I can't do dry at level 7. I tried using a straight stem and a few feet of tubing for a whip and still found it a bit harsh on my throat, usually I don't go pats 4 dry. I can get a very good extraction on level 3 with properly cured and ground bud, but it takes me the whole 12 minutes to do it. So you get about 6-7 draws dry on level 7? How much do you pack it if you don't mind me asking?

I've got something to post about tomorrow, I have to run a few errands in the morning so I won't be able to post until just before noon I think. @OF was kind enough to send me one of the charger cutoff boxes he made and I am really liking it so far :clap:

I pack my straight stem full. Lightly trap it down. Usually a course grind. The first 3 hits are big and full of flavor the next 3 are the standard flavourless ABV but not popcorn. I could push another couple of draws but I get bored and go for a fresh bowl usually.

It would only be natural for some who smoke cigarettes to probably vape at a higher temp. I could be wrong about that.:2c:

No never been a cigarette smoker. In fact I have found cig smokers cough more when vapping than non smokers. Maybe their burnt out throats can't take the THC laden vapor.

I got one from Randy at Puff It Up, and I could not be more pleased with the product or service.

I'm not sure I would call the Arizer Solo a "portable". I mean, I guess it does qualify but I really think of it more as a small handy convenient home unit thanks to the glass tubes. It's portable in that it is small enough to pack away and take with you, but to me a portable is defined as a pocketable device and this is not that. But of course, we all knew that going in. ;)

Still for me, hands down the best "portable" vape experience I've tried. :)

Great choice of machine and vendor......which you seem to have figured out on your own.

What's the old joke? "It'll be portable as soon as we bolt the handles on"? Here, I understand, the division is drawn when it no longer has a power cord. That is if you can move it away from an electrical outlet.

It will fit in some pockets, I'm wearing some right now in fact. The unit goes in pants (cargo) pocket, stem (inverted) in my shirt pocket. Just the ticket when my hands are full. It's not a covert thing for sure, but many of us I think don't need that?

I worked in Saudi Arabia at one point many years ago. 1 Million Saudis and 8 million foreigners doing stuff for them. Well, 7,999,999 and me..... Earnie (an Italian construction Foreman at the hospital) had his own joke along the lines of 'my wife sent me here to make money, told me not to come home until my pockets were stuffed with it. A couple months back I wrote I'd had enough, my pockets were full, I was coming home. She sent me pants with bigger pockets.......'.

That's all you really need to complete the outfit.

Very nice. Are they out of beta yet?

Thanks.

Nope. IMO done correctly Beta testing is not rushed (or worse yet avoided.....). 3 minor improvement have been incorporated thus far, who knows when that list is exhausted? There are now 6 units of 3 different versions out, most with Forum Members, all but Ataxian have chosen not to self ID it seems, their call of course.

I think we can all think of vape disasters caused by rushing such things to customers without doing a proper shakedown. I'm in no rush to sell this (or anything else for that matter) to anyone......a luxury of being successfully retired? It's been going quietly on for several months, I plan to continue on until it's done. Then decide to make them or not......selling them is really not the goal.

At the least, a packaging/board redesign is in order before a Pilot Run can be tried I think. What I have now (the latest are in plastic boxes) are practical and functional (we hope......), but not as pretty as they could be.

While it seems to satisfy my original goal (automatic charge shutdown to prolong battery life) the testers seem more excited about the reduced recharge time. It cuts the slowest part of the charge off, the 45 minutes or so that only provides about the last 10% of the charge. What was a normal 2 hour recharge is now one.

I personally like the '3 beep notice' the charge is done, which as often as not announces 'time to grab a stemload and head for the garden for some discharging time'........

Something like Pavlov's Dogs......or any cat when the can opener starts......

"Take all the time you need to do a good job".

Welcome!
You see it right!
The SOLO is not the smallest portable!
For home its perfect out in the garden!
It's not a desk top however you can use it as one!
Pairs with water.

Some need even smaller and vaporize in public?
If you keep it in perceptive the SOLO is the best bang for the buck!

I had 3 at one time!
One is all I have now!
One is all I need really,
Cannabis is the HOLY GRAIL!l

The SOLO is a functional way of obtaining or extracting the medicine for some people!
It doesn't work for some people for different reasons however it's a basic medical device that works in some situations were basic is a good thing!

You can look into getting a wooden stem @Ed's TnT or WonG that will make your unit a bit more portable. You wouldn't have to worry about packing glass. Ed makes some very beautiful pieces. He also makes other things like wooden vaporizers. It might be worth checking out his thread here on FC.

The Solo might be on the chubby side but it is well worth the added padding. Just more to love.

It is a very sturdy unit. Some of the portables on the market aren't made to last. They are almost like a disposable vape. Not so with the Solo, it is made to last. We had a member that had a Solo run over and it still worked. He even included pics.

Thanks to all you guys, I just made the purchase. I live in Canada so bought from Vaporizers Canada. It was $199+free 2 day shipping. With duty, shipping and tax's it works out to roughly the same as buying off ebay but I don't have to deal with customs delays etc. which I've faced before.

Thank you all for your advice in this thread. It really seems so versatile, I can't wait to test it out.

Being retired is a luxury!

I disagree a bit, not that it's not a luxury to me, I see it more along the lines of a blessing. It is the result of years of planning on my part and some tough sledding and lean times along the way, but the goal was never a given. I knew that anywhere along the way it could get derailed by factors beyond my control, still can.

It's great for sure, I highly recommend retirement over that other thing. This one's mine, I earned it, I'm enjoying it! It makes me happy to know I'm not alone in that, Brother.

It's good to reflect on life's blessings. The garden is a good place for that, and Solo a good companion.
