I got one from Randy at Puff It Up, and I could not be more pleased with the product or service.
I'm not sure I would call the Arizer Solo a "portable".
but to me a portable is defined as a pocketable device and this is not that.
Great choice of machine and vendor......which you seem to have figured out on your own.
What's the old joke? "It'll be portable as soon as we bolt the handles on"? Here, I understand, the division is drawn when it no longer has a power cord. That is if you can move it away from an electrical outlet.
It will fit in some pockets, I'm wearing some right now in fact. The unit goes in pants (cargo) pocket, stem (inverted) in my shirt pocket. Just the ticket when my hands are full. It's not a covert thing for sure, but many of us I think don't need that?
I worked in Saudi Arabia at one point many years ago. 1 Million Saudis and 8 million foreigners doing stuff for them. Well, 7,999,999 and me..... Earnie (an Italian construction Foreman at the hospital) had his own joke along the lines of 'my wife sent me here to make money, told me not to come home until my pockets were stuffed with it. A couple months back I wrote I'd had enough, my pockets were full, I was coming home. She sent me pants with bigger pockets.......'.
That's all you really need to complete the outfit.
Very nice. Are they out of beta yet?
Thanks.
Nope. IMO done correctly Beta testing is not rushed (or worse yet avoided.....). 3 minor improvement have been incorporated thus far, who knows when that list is exhausted? There are now 6 units of 3 different versions out, most with Forum Members, all but Ataxian have chosen not to self ID it seems, their call of course.
I think we can all think of vape disasters caused by rushing such things to customers without doing a proper shakedown. I'm in no rush to sell this (or anything else for that matter) to anyone......a luxury of being successfully retired? It's been going quietly on for several months, I plan to continue on until it's done. Then decide to make them or not......selling them is really not the goal.
At the least, a packaging/board redesign is in order before a Pilot Run can be tried I think. What I have now (the latest are in plastic boxes) are practical and functional (we hope......), but not as pretty as they could be.
While it seems to satisfy my original goal (automatic charge shutdown to prolong battery life) the testers seem more excited about the reduced recharge time. It cuts the slowest part of the charge off, the 45 minutes or so that only provides about the last 10% of the charge. What was a normal 2 hour recharge is now one.
I personally like the '3 beep notice' the charge is done, which as often as not announces 'time to grab a stemload and head for the garden for some discharging time'........
Something like Pavlov's Dogs......or any cat when the can opener starts......
"Take all the time you need to do a good job".
