Fatal as in dead BATTERY, right?Electrically that's right, but I seriously doubt mechanically it is (too tall). Have you tried to fit the battery into the Solo?
Otherwise, yes, you can solder or otherwise splice the old connector on the new pack. Watch the wire colors (Solo polarity on the connector is 'backwards') but if you do you should be fine. Do one wire at a time, and insulate well, an accidental contact with the PCB under the battery would probably be spectacular, but surely will be fatal.

And you are saying to connect red to black?
That's what I just did and plugged her in and no I have a light show going on. Dead when not plugged in.
Battery fits perfect, this isn't working.
Edit:Red to red and black to black like normal works. dafuq you talking about OF?
So, I suggest this battery so far. Way cheaper option. I'll let you know if it blows up in my hand or something down the way.
