Arizer Solo II

Baked-not-fried

riding the Cannabreak train...
Hmm, my glass stem sits crooked/tilted in my Solo 2. Like it's sitting against one side of the chamber. Anyone else have this issue?

No. All my stock stems fit flush. I do have an aftermarket tiny bubbler I use dry that sits off kilter, but that's probably maker error. Hope it gets fixed if it's broken!

I actually have a issue? When mine is at temp and holding through a sesh, I can hear some tiny little clicks once in awhile, like 5 or 6 in a row, real fast and faint. Like maybe it's the heater kicking in to keep temp? Just wondered if it sounded like a real problem. It's still working like a dream.

Not a problem. After a bit of use all stems get side to side 'play'. The seal is smaller than the cup, stems 'hinge' on it and almost always end up to one side or the other. In fact the bent stems do this all the time? That is the off center weight tips the bowl forward.

Not all stems are square on the end, this too can change how they rest in the cup.

Enjoy the Solo, this will have an undetectable effect if any.

Just concerned I'm loosing something if heat is being conducted from the glass to the top of the body.

Actually you're gaining transfer at that point at the expense of other places. But again, not even trivial in the big picture. Over time everything in the cup area (stem, screens, load, condensate) reaches a uniform, stable temperature. That's what conduction does. Enjoy it, revel in it, Solo/Air/ArGo is a solid design with long history. It's a dependable machine for making vapor.

Any cooling above the chamber is a plus, it (air and vapor) has to cool down so it doesn't scorch your throat....... I recommend water for that.

Same for me expect it's a refurbished carbon black unit from vaposhop. I hope it's 'as new'. :D

Edit: any tips or mods for micro dosing? Is this even possible with a conduction device like solo 2?
And are the stems or especially wpa from 1 series compatible with series 2? Can't find a wpa for the 2 at vaposhop.

SOLO Vaporized Cannabis is my Best Medicine
Enjoying some nice Chemdog today from a local pot store. All out of homegrown.

Friends keep handing me pipes and I take a toke. Always wish I hadn't, tastes terrible. Gotta stop doing that...….
I find myself reaching for my vape to try and overwhelm the crappy taste with fresh terpenes from my vaped pot. People who smoke have no idea of what weed actually tastes like and how good it tastes.

At this point I have been vaping for over six years. My lungs and I are very happy about that.:leaf:

My shiny blue Solo II has just arrived and I am BLOWN AWAY by the build quality and haptic impression of the device. It feels so well built and sturdy & it is WAY smaller than I expected. The difference in size to the Air II is marginal for my use case. I already love it, hands down. One decision that I definitely will not regret. I have already listed it as "daily driver" in my signature, because I know already that it will be exactly that.

Thanks to all the good advice on this forum by you wonderful guys and gals, I resisted to turn it on upon receipt and directly connected it to the wall charger to leave it there for a full charge (and some hours beyond) to get the best out of the battery.

I cannot wait for the evening to come. Solo II - Feel heartily welcome here at my home!

Good to hear @Dynavaper, makes me feeling more excited about my hopefully today arriving solo 2.

I am sure that you will love it. I did not expect it to be that nice from the images that I have seen. Never owned a Solo I, so I had nothing to compare.

So you do have the air 2 too?

Yes, the Air I and the Air II.

Yes, the Air I and the Air II.

Would be great if you could give a short comparison from your point of view after you've given the solo 2 a run!

If never owned an arizer product before so I just ordered both the air 2 and solo 2 as I really have no idea which of both seems to fit my needs better as they both look very similar besides the small dofferences in shape and size.

Just had a chance to have my first bowl with the Solo II.
First impressions (take them as what they are, first impressions):

  • The heater seems stronger to me, compared to the Air II.
  • The vapor is thicker and its production starts earlier in comparison.
  • It seems to extract way faster. It sometimes takes me 2 sessions à 10mins with the Air II to go through a stem and I was done with the same amount in the Solo II within 1 session à 10mins easily. I must admit that I like the slow extraction of the Air II. Let's see... ;)
  • It hits a tad harder than the Air II, but that may be just a momentarily impression.
  • It feels a good bit heavier than the Air II.
  • I love both for different use cases, but if I had to choose one or the other for mostly home use, then I would choose the Solo II. If it should be more for on the go (and at home), then the Air II. Both are great vapes, the differences are marginal.

So I just opened the package and can't wait to write my very first impressions down.

The build quality feels amazing! It feels like a small tank, even more than the fury.
I'm most impressed by the size!! This thing is definitely not THAT big. I expected something about twice the size from what I've heard and seen on the internet.

I've also read a lot of comparisons between the air and the solo and what you are writing seems to confirm most of that. My only concern is the battery. Why couldn't they just make it half-interchangeable like the solo I :(. I bought a "refurbished" unit of vaposhop for about ~125 €, which I found to tempting over a new unit but now I never know who owned it before and what he did to the battery. My unit looks like new though, not even any scratches. Let's hope the best.

Edit: The only thing I regret ist not getting the blue colored one . That blue looks very beautiful in reality.

But they did...... No need for that concern:

The packs might even interchange, giving Solo I a 50% boost in battery life. Arizer hasn't approved of this (nor offered Solo II packs AFAIK) but they have done so with Air (approved of the Air II battery in Air I).

Oh right, I've already seen the teardown on piu.
But for taking use out of it they would have to release the battery pack for purchase. But from what I've read the battery should last quite long on it's own if handled correctly.

Edit:
Do your buttons feel a little bit "wobbly" too? Feedback is good, they just don't sit as tight as e.g. in the air 2.

Yeah, if something about it disappoints me, then the button. It's, as you say, a bit wobbly. The Air II ones are better. I also don't like that I cannot set the "ON" timer to 2 seconds like with the Air II. Four seconds seems the minimum. But I really, really like it otherwise. :)

Really loving my Solo 2. It just had its first birthday. It sure does come in handy for those times I don’t have an electrical outlet close by.

I have mine programmed to start in 4 seconds and for the session to last 15 min. The temp is set anywhere from 375 to 385 degrees on mine. I love being able to choose my precise temp that I want. It’s very easy to change the settings on this unit.

I give this unit 5 stars for ease, portability, easy maintenance, taste and no little parts to lose. Last night I woke up at 2am and I had the Solo 2 close by loaded with some Gotilla Glue.

I have the mystic blue one and it’s beautiful.

I only wish it had a countdown timer so you can see how long before it auto-shuts off :(

Good point. Fury 2 has that in a vape that costs half as much. Neat feature, there a tiny battery means fixed 4 minute sessions, it's nice to where the end is in deciding 'is that going to be enough?' Or resetting (six pushes on the big button). There there is no 'beeper' as backup, a nice feature (especially in variable volume like here) but not really in line with it's basic, tiny, high performance little vape Smaller than ArGo, although has a fixed 'Li-Po' battery so fits a different market.

Anyway, having used F2 a fair bit, IMO it's a very nice feature. F2 'masks' the first minute, the window shows the target temperature in that corner instead. Finally it changes to '180 sec' and starts the countdown and flashes the last 10 seconds. Nice, but perhaps not the optimum, but it does keep owners from obsessing over how long it took to heat.....

Hopefully, this obvious (isn't it always after the fact.....) and easy to implement in many/most of the newer vapes with screens will catch on. Maybe a fun little set of dots around the whole screen with an invisible pac-man gobbling them in a clockwise direction......when he eats the last one the unit shuts down.......

Regards to all, enjoy the upcoming Holiday. It's an important one.
