I've had a Crafty for 2.5 years (actually I've had 5 Craftys because they keep failing.) So after searching and searching, I decided on the Solo 2. It was delivered on Saturday (2 days ago). I planned to plug it in for 8 hours or whatever to benefit the battery over its lifetime, so when it got here I opened the box, gazed lovingly upon its glory for about 30 minutes, then plugged it in, hid it under my bedroom end table, and waited. About 10 minutes later I wanted to hold it again (I know, I have issues) so I go to retrieve it and when I moved it, it started making a long, solid beep and the display froze on the battery icon. So, naturally, I freak out. I try all the different hold down the button combos with the charger plugged in and not plugged in, nothing changes, just one long never ending tone and the display showing the battery icon. My next step is to call Puffitup (where I bought it for $203 with 6 free additional tubes, awesome) So I call and explain my dilemma, and this is the first time they've heard of THIS problem. The rep checks with the techs, and the only thing they can think of (since the battery isn't removable) is to let the battery die and then plug it in again. In the meantime they are starting a return order in case the thing is defective. So by now my head is about to explode from that doggone beep. I put it in my closet between sweaters and thankfully, I can't hear it anymore. Now I wait. and wait. and I check on it for the next 36 hours. FINALLY, its gone dead! Now I'm terrified to plug it in, I don't want to hear that beep! I plug it in (at 0330am) and after a moment it beeps once and smiles at me and says HI, then proceeds to charge! I go back bed and when I wake up it's fully charged! I turn it on and IT TURNS ON! I let it go thru a session at the highest temp, blah blah blah, all the initial burn off you gotta do, set the glass tube in place, etc. Then finally I get to load it up! WOW! I only put in a pinch and my wife and I got fully up! Amazing vapor, not harsh, didn't think it would ever stop pumping it out! I'm very happy with my purchase. And after thinking about it, I believe that the unit suffered some sort of static electrical shock which sent it into the non functioning state it was in until the battery died and it could reset itself. Moral of the story is don't charge your unit while it's sitting on carpet in the winter when it's dry as a bone in the house and static electricity is prevalent.
TL;DR Don't charge your vaporizer while it's sitting on carpet or risk static shock to mess up your unit
