Arizer Solo 3

Would the Solo 3 be a good choice for heavy use as in several times a day everyday, both on the go and while home at my desk? Or is it more of a time consuming sessions if you want to get the full experience?

Yes it would be good for heavy use, has a long lasting battery good enough for all day for me using it around 5-6 times, with enough battery for the next day too. 1 charge can last me a few days. i use it in session but with a hook and it’s not much time consuming at all just a few mins for me to get my bud nice and vaped. I probably would get the v2 as my v1 can take hours to charge. Not sure how much faster the charging is in the v2.

I've loved the Solo III since purchase June of last year. First time using the XL WPA I went ahead and used it how I've used the Solo II and Air Max in the past and packed it super tight. After a few good pulls, combustion. That's when I knew this heater was serious! This had never happened in my years of using the Solo II (then Air Max) with the same super packed method. After a good cleaning and some further testing, it has been my go to device! I don't pack super tight as often since the airflow is so great. Using my XL Hi-Flo straight stem from 420EDC is so tasty .

I've used plenty of vapes, but with how easy to use and maintain these Solo/Air devices are and how pure the flavors come through, they have been my absolute favorite portable vapes. Keeping and rotating my preferred stems across devices has been neat too. Reloading on the go can be a little tricky but pre-packing the stems and blowing out the AVB couldn't be easier. One to three stems while out and about usually get me where I need to be, but I will say I don't really leave the house or travel with any of this stuff these days.

Getting to the v2, I really dig it! I took up Arizer's offer of sending in the unit and paid $100 for a v2. I don't have my old Arizer's so really missed the S-III while waiting for the replacement. I can't call it an "upgrade" as it is 99.5% the same device, but the minor UI upgrades are nice. What really did it for me was the addition of PD charging and the new Sea of Green color. The matte color reminds me of how my old blue Solo II felt in my hands and the green UI is so pretty:love:. I don't know why they couldn't have given both colors the option to switch back and forth but its not a big deal to me. Additionally, nearly all my devices use PD charging and have magnetic adapters to help prevent wear and tear on the ports. Being able to use my existing charging setups as and where they are makes my life easier, so for me it was worth the price. I appreciate that I am able to spend money on silly things that make me happy. It is a privilege I do not take for granted. I do hope my old unit isn't going into a landfill so it would be cool to know if it ends up being reused somehow down the line.

I understand $100 means different things in many parts of the world so I can't say that it is flat out worth the cost but if you like the minor changes and think the price is worth having a shiny new (and possibly green) device, it's nice to have the option to "side-grade". I have read some people are upset and consider the v1 a beta product, but I can't agree with that line of thought. The v2 doesn't make the v1 obsolete. When I bought the v1 I took the device for what it was, not what it could be. I have never been able to update firmware for Arizer devices at home, so I didn't expect to be able to do that with the S-III. Everything else has been a neat bonus. Shipping your old device (at your cost) and being out the device for a week or two while waiting for the free software update has it's own pros and cons but would have been worth it to me and I appreciate Arizer for having that option as well.

Here are two photos before I get back to using it and looking at neat stems online!

Do you also happen to also have the Tinymight to compare to?

Mine combusts if even a tiny bit of the material is at the top of the bowl. Is best to pack it right down and always use it upside down. Every time I tried to use it not upside down it combusted.

Best to use the XL bowl as then you can leave a space at top so material is deffo not gonna touch the heater.

I have the TM2 also and it is like the solo 3 but 100 times worst in terms of it combusting :D I do still however still love both as they are just so powerful but that is good when you use it the right way.

Mighty+ is 0/10 for combusting
Solo 3 is 6/10 for combusting
TM2 is 9/10 for combusting

just for comparison.

When it combusts, how close is the material to the very top? I leave a 2-3mm gap and mine never combusts regardless of how I use it, which is usually right side up. If you are leaving the same gap, I'd question how accurate the temperature reading is on your device.

I don't! Between the price, looks and initial availability I never hopped on the TM Train. Love the Purpleheart version but can't find a place in my life for one right now.

Wild stuff! Aside from that initial combustion I haven't had a problem. No issues with any material falling onto the heater itself either side from getting a little darker. It has never been a worry for me. I don't push my device past 420F or use on demand mode at max temp too often. When I combusted that one time, I had a tightly packed stem on level 5 of the on demand mode using a large glass piece.

yes, I would contact Arizer if I were Rodney, sounds like its overheating, I do not have combustion issues and it takes a lot of intentional effort for me to combust with my S3.

btw, sent mine for software upgrade and wowzas, I absolutely love the updates to On Demand with heat time and temp built into adjustable presets. I am the only one who absolutely loves this update!?

I always overpack the stem and run it at max temperature and this is the reason it combusts. Is just pure greed and laziness to pack and use 3 separate stems :D

From those who previously had the Solo 2, how long would you say the battery (batteries) last before replacement is needed.

After much debate on which new vape to buy I finally decided on getting a Solo 3 V2 just before the 420 sales ended at POV. After just a couple hours I'm really like it so far. It's like having all the best parts of the original OG Solo but with everything amped up and super charged!! So far the only complaint I have is that you can't turn that damn beeping completely off! I remember being so glad when it suddenley stopped working on my original Solo and the Air. I wonder if you could cover the speaker with something to muffle it even more with out messing up the airflow or anything else?

You definitely can, just gave it a try on my unit to confirm. After going into session or on demand mode, hold the right button and the second option should be notifications. From there you can select "All", "Temperature" or "Off". I don't mind the beeps myself but use the lowest volume (along with lowest screen brightness setting). Congrats on the pickup, it's a solid piece of hardware!

Alternatively, you could simply wait until you are my age.
HaHa Not sure but I'd bet we're probably not all that far apart on age....I'm 43 and my hearing is already about shot to shit with a wonderful dose of tinnitus to boot. Which I'm absolutely sure has nothing to do with me playing and being around live music (mostly rock and metal) for over twenty years while keeping a "earplugs are for sissies" mentality! LoL But for some reason now high pitch noises like beeps seem to get through loud and clear no matter the volume and intensify enough to make me wince a little. Strange I'm sure........

Tinnitus used to be a problem for me. I sort of got used to it. As to my age, well, I have a son who is 40 years of age. I'm frigging old (but good looking)😃.

You are old only if you remember Sky King and the name of his plane and his niece. Or Rocky Jones Space Rangers sidekick`s name.

I upgraded to a Sea Green V2 recently. I've grumbled here about the buttons not working well on my original S3. I even sent it back to Arizer who determined that it was functoining normally. My V2 unit had better button functionality, but I have to assume that part of the problem is mine. My new unit also appears to run about 10C hotter than my previous unit. I had previously used session temperatures of 160, 178, and 200. Last night I reduced these to 150, 170, and 190. So far that seems to result in an experience close to what I had with the old unit.

Mine seems to run hot also. Not too happy with the buttons either as I seem to fat finger them more than I would like. Very happy with the device. Similar results as my TM2.
