Ok. Very strange.

Do you insert the bowl before the oven reaches temperature, or during, or after the oven is at the final temperature?

One other scenario I thought of is the following. If you turn your Solo off while warm and then turn it back on again shortly after, it might not measure the initial warm temperature accurately (e.g. it guesses the current temp is 80C when it's really at 100C) and it overshoots the final temp by 20C?

Is this ever a scenario that happens - shutting the Solo off and then using it again shortly after while it's still warm?
As a data point, I do this daily and have not experienced this problem.

hi, So there is something wrong with my device. I cleaned everything again today. I cleaned everything in the WPA adapter and checked the holes. in Solo 3 I set it back to 205 degrees and had another burn. When it happens it's pretty gross... everything turns dark yellow, there's deposits in the bong... it all looks pretty gross I've been using the solo several times a day for over 2 months and have never had any problems... yes, lately I've noticed that the temperatures are a little higher than at the beginning... that's why I'm stuck with the temps going down too.. but I never burned my weed at 205 degrees. It's been happening almost all the time now, since yesterday. I can already hear my weed burning and the flame at the wpa adapter... everything is very strange at the moment

Maybe I'll crank mine to 205 later see if same thing happens. I usually start at 165, end with 185 maybe 190 on occasion.

Sorry to hear this is happening ☹️.

Maybe it's time to contact Arizer for a repair or exchange.

Yes, I have been using the Solo 3 daily for over 2 months. Everything was fine until a few days ago... yes, I noticed 1-2 weeks ago that the top layer of my weed was always turning black. Of course, I always made sure that I had a 1-2 mm gap... until now everything was fine... until it started burning my weed. I have written to support and hope for an answer soon. Does anyone have experience with Arizer support? I bought the Solo 3 here in Germany through Magic Vaporizer, maybe I should write to them too?

Yes, I think you should also contact the store. They may be able to offer an exchange quicker perhaps.

@RAMMSTEIN I combusted hard with my S3 four times, also with ash burnt weed and temper colors showing up. Contacted Arizer, they advised me to to stop using the tiniest amount of ISO, just dry rub the oven. I did so and I never combusted again since then. And I use it regularly up to 220C.

Check my posts here, it’s very well documented.

Although I clean my equipment very often, I have never cleaned the oven with ISO. I always make sure nothing falls in and after 2 months my oven still looks good. I'm slowly no longer feeling good about S3

Contact Arizer. In my case they sent me a new device without involving the retailer I bought it from. And they let me keep my device, so I didn’t have to send it in and be without it one single day, waiting for the retailer not being able to reproduce the issue.

Was an early adopter with the S3 that developed issues after several days of use. The CS rep walked me through several fixes that did not solve the problem. They were very understanding and helpful over the several day period and assured me that they would remedy the situation and I had nothing to be concerned about.

After all avenues were exhausted, they apologized and sent a new unit along with additional glass stems and a prepaid mailer to send back the faulty one. First time I dealt with their CS as my other Arizer's still work perfectly. Reliable company with a history of solid products and support. Was very impressed.

I had the same problem but mine has lot of defect and has appearing error 5, 7, 8, and 12. It happened after the 1st month of almost daily use. Also the Pass-through charge is not working. It looked like the error are made to stop the combustion and shut the device but sometimes it will work but then it will combust. I already contacted Arizer and they already replaced my S3, one thing I only noticed on improvement on external is the buttons, they made it not that much clicky like the defective one

I sent mine in for a repair as well, although after testing it, they said there is nothing wrong with it and sent it back. I guess in my case it is user error. It was just a problem with the buttons seeming to not always work the first time pressed. In any event top-notch service and communication.

That's also my worry when I send it in and I get the information that everything is fine... But that would be the end of Solo 3 for me.
My device is currently totally crazy...
Almost burned yesterday at 205 degrees... Then I try 195 degrees and I notice that there is very little steam.
I look at my weed and it's light brown to green.
Then tried the whole thing at 205 degrees and again the same... almost no steam and weed very light brown.
Same thing this morning at 205 degrees,,, almost no steam.
It just annoys me... I was very satisfied for over 2.5 months... But the device is now doing really strange things.
While it always delivered consistently before, the results are totally different with every session.

I hope Arizer replaces my device

Arizer Support contacted me and got the information that a service partner in Germany would contact me.

They want to check the device and then repair it “if necessary”.
Of course I'm worried about "if necessary".
It's also possible that the information will come, everything is fine... But then it was my last Arizer... I was hoping for an exchange.
Does anyone know how long this takes? and how long do I have to do without my device?
I also received the information that I should also cover the shipping costs.

I'm excited to see what comes of it

I was hoping for an exchange.
If they can reproduce the error, there will be an exchange. The S3 is glued together and can’t be repaired.

Btw my theory is that the heater is clogged up with reclaim due to exclusive upside down use, as vapor rises up. I had a longer conversation with Arizer, in which they seemed to be most concerned about liquids in the oven. Guess that’s a vulnerable point.

Glued together... Really? :\
For a device in this priceclass i think that's pretty disappointing tbh...
Edit: so it's not glued

From what i've read it stays hot (vaping temp hot) for a while after a few hits, even in on demand mode? So then it's not possible to "clear your hit"? So if you leave it inverted on a piece after hitting it, it blows vapor in it's own heater? :uhoh:
And no way to check since it's glued together... (edit: it's not tho )

Do you know if there's been a teardown of the solo3 already? I'd like to see the insides of it...

Edit: almost simultaneous the insides were posted... Thanks @endof3d, your post was visionary! LoL

Helped a friend replace a battery pack on His Solo 1 and was relatively easy. Wouldn't attempt any other repair though. The components inside are fully accessible by removing the four screws on the bottom of all Solos. All components including the main circuit board can be replaced if you have the technical skills and replacement parts. The unit is solidly built and engineered to out last it's warranty.

Warning! Do not remove the bottom screws unless you're experienced with electronic components and assembly. Warranty will be voided.

Hi,

Today German Arizer Support contacted me and told me to send in my Solo 3 and they want to check the device.
Everything is fine so far... I was at home this afternoon and continued to use my Solo 3.
What should I say? Today the device doesn't cause any problems and works "normally".
And here comes my problem, if I send in the Solo 3 and it works like it does today, then they won't see any errors and will send the device back to me... and I've paid for shipping and have to be without my Solo 3 for at least a week.
Now I thought about continuing to monitor the whole thing and see if the error occurs again.

I write to support that I will test the device further before sending it in...

Maybe,,,, and maybe... maybe there was a mistake on my part... I really want to rule that out and that's why I'll keep an eye on the whole thing in the near future.
I always cleaned it beforehand and made sure the holes were free.. and had no problems with daily use for over 2 months.
Nothing should actually overheat... I'm watching the whole thing.

What do you actually mean? Should I send it to be checked or test it further?

My experience with their service has been nothing short of exceptional. I would send it.

not an expert, but what you said happened sounds like something glitched out. I would want to get it checked out.

I have some backup vapes though so that's easy for me to say.

debating adding a solo 3 to my collection... i have underdog and enano logs, a couple dynavaps and an og solo. the solo is my poolside vape and i use it primarily for longer sessions and for passing around. surely i don't need anything but i'm considering upgrading to gain on-demand function and maybe to shorten the length of my sessions on the og solo. good idea to make the leap? i appreciate a more powerful heater but i care about flavor and an even extraction far more than i care about quick extraction.

It sucks to be without your device but since it's happened so frequently, I would send it in. If you were detailed in your description of the problem (which you were at least on the forum) then I don't think they'll just give up if they can't reproduce it initially. Maybe some diagnostics will fail and they won't even have to reproduce the actual fault.

I went from the OG Solo to the Solo 3 and let me tell you, there's no comparison. All the great flavor still remains but there's so much more power and versatility. As someone who enjoys low temp vaping, having a powerful heater makes the experience much better. No waiting to take your next draw while the heater catches up. Also, much better battery life and every function is faster.
