What are you binge watching?

My wife and I just finished our last binge show and are looking for another to watch together in the evening. Yes, I am of the age and in a relationship where "chill" means actually watching Netflix. What are a few of your favorite things right now?

We tend towards Sci Fi like Continum, Mr. Robot, Black Mirror and the like. If I don't come up with something, in honor of the 4 show mini-series reunion coming to the screen at the end of the year, I'll be watching the last few seasons of the Gilmore Girls "to catch up".

just got through season 2 (rewatching what i missed lol), i really like this show...slow, honest, funny...it almost made me want to learn more about ring pulls through the ages, almost. particularly like how just about every character has enough quirkiness and humor about them you could see them having their own show, its like a bunch of kramers.

Does anyone have any good Netflix Watch Instantly recommendations?

Has anyone seen "The girl that kicked the Hornets nest"?

I feel like I have seen most of the stuff on watch instantly and am looking into more of the Documentary, Foreign, and lesser known movies. Its really hit or miss with most being a big miss.

I would recommend MOON with Sam Rockwell. Its a neat movie.
Not NF but live action Captain Planet on Amazon, Letterkenny, mostly on Dailymotion and in about a week Trailer Park Boys new season, might be good.

Two films I saw and loved, both were listed in both the "Horror" and "Thriller" genres:

Hush. Deaf protagonist terrorized all night by serial killer. Not "tortured" but "terrorized". The minimal (spoken) dialogue increases the thrill and deepens the suspense.

The Awakening. Set in post WWI England. Woman of upper class who investigates and debunks hauntings and spiritualists is invited to a boys school to investigate a haunting. The character development is good. They offer a twist to the story near the end.

Both definitely fit the "Thriller" bill.

bloodline season 3...whats in store?

bloodline-s2-ep5-36-14.gif

...f is for family s2, house of cards...damn im busy at night now. also watched an interesting doc named "whats with wheat", felt it could of been less speculation and opinion than it was but there was some good info in it and worth a watch for those who take nutrition seriously, just have to wade through some highly opinionated viewpoints that may or may not be supported with facts, which honestly i didnt mind, we all have perspective and experiences and not everyone reacts the same way to the same foods, felt like i did learn some things...i snacked massively through the whole thing lol.

Moving Art is a 2-season (12 half-hours) show of high def Nature photography set to New Age music. I prefer to listen to my own music. There is no narration, just mind-blowingly beautiful photography.

Ocean Wonders: High def non-narrative film filled with cool ocean critters.

The perfect back-drop to lounge-full living.

what the health (2017)

it does go for shock value at times which i prefer they didnt do. also i am skeptic of the people who were miraculously healed so quickly, although the research stated does support what the documentary is about. i made the mistake of ordering chinese take out for this watch, dont do that.

its certainly woke me up, again. the egg yoke (link) im not entirely buying (mine are laid in my yard) since the research did not look into the rest of the diet just if yokes were involved, but someone is eating lots of eggs they might also eat lots of bacon. also the meat (link) one im still slightly on the fence since the link seems to be with processed not with sensibly produced based on the research thus far.

ive given meat and dairy a time out for now, dairy is likely gonna be gone for good...already using substitutes for that.

Not much of a binger but I got a few hours tonight and will try Black Mirror and if it doesn't stick I'll give Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt a try. Why not?

what the health (2017)

Thanks. Might give it a go. But I think now I've had my last egg for a while. I've eaten probably 4-6 eggs / week the past year or so.

I won't get started with diet. Saw first hand how directly it affects behavior.

Thanks Netflix for keeping up the negative portrayl of the cannabis user/worker/supporter/activist, in your shitshow mentioned above me.

So great they fuel the same tired old stereotypes we've all come to know and loathe. Really?!? This isn't laughing with us...this GARBAGE show is laughing AT US.

"Hey weeds legal now, its ok to laugh at these people for what they are underneath...just typical dopeheads." ---said some @sshat exec at Netflix.

Sorry if that offends anyone who likes this, what I call, TRASH, but as a medical patient, activist, industry worker, and someone who has seen firsthand how cannabis can help heal, this show is mindless gutter sludge at best. Until there is an overwhelmingly positive attitude on cannabis users, I cannot sit and laugh at this. Not now. Still too many gains in the culture that could be lost and this only helps reinforce the negative around much of what my life is/who I am or we are, as a person/parent/friend, as well as how we may be perceived in our daily lives.
NOT because of what we do or how we do it. Not the quality of oury work, or dedication to our family and job. Not how good of a parent/friend/person we are....We're just a stoner to many still, and this just helps keep it that way.

P.S.---Normally Love Kathy Bates...not this show.
Yes...I have already sent a response to Netfux as well(not like they care, I know) and decided to cancel my subscription as well. Fortunately for all, that means my time in the Netfux thread has come to an end as well lol.

I hate to be too much of a fuddy duddy, but, has anyone noticed the gruesome intent in a lot of these Netflix original programming? It seems each has, in the first few minutes, some horrible visual designed to shock. I suppose the theory is we're all jaded and we really can't see a person is bad just because they kill someone for a bad reason, we have to see the flaying or dismembering in rich CGI. I'm a big boy and have seen many horrific things in reel life (Some in real life too.), but it always seemed the horror was an important part of the story. The flayed guard in Silence of the Lambs, the brain splatter in Pulp Fiction, the chest-breaking "hello" of Alien all seemed to be a part of the story. Now it seems like the story line is:

1. LOOKitissomethinghorribleanddoesn'titshockyou.
2. Never mention it again.
3. Profit.

As always it all depends on how you look at things. For me Disjointed was just another story in my life and a well served one. Each gets different things from a story. You got the bad way they present stoners, I got the humor and all the other things I notice in stories and their characters... To each their own.

PS: Damn, I even watch the news sometimes on TV!!! Such great comedy!
