I love my Omni and use it more than my Anvil but the Anvil is something different and if you get the chance and have the cash and want one, then try it. I use them for different purposes and having/using one does not in any way detract from the other. They're two very good but different things.

I've decided to pull the trigger on the Anvil. Haven't bought anything new in a long time and I'm looking forward to this.
Enjoy! I've had mine for nearly 2 months now. I've basically only been using the Anvil and one of my other devices.

I've been putting a lot of hemp flower through the Anvil the past week or so. It's been so tasty. My order had a free sample of some CBD kief as well. Drop some of that kief in with the flower and baby we going to cloud/flavor town 👌

I've been pretty satisfied with my Anvil. I really can't think of anything else I'd need for it. I pretty much only use the XL bowl now and it always has the XL mouthpiece on, even when I drop it on glass pieces. As someone who could never fully convert to vaping over the years, I think the Anvil and Bowle have won me over. It took months for my body to adjust to the vapour. Now when I vape, it feels like smoking but way cleaner and the effects always kick in maybe 5-10 mins later.

Apologies for the randomness and I don't mean to de-rail the thread in any way. Thread hasn't been active over the weekend and just felt like sharing my thoughts. Don't mean to be a shill but yeah, this device had me hyped and it's been living up to it, for me at least. Cool to see a lot more people having access to the device now.

Edit: I totes forgot that I ordered a ton of o-rings 10 days ago. Hopefully they arrive this week. I'll let y'all know when I receive it so those in the US can get an idea of how long it takes to receive orders from theoringstore.com.

@3xFantasyChamp Anvil x Bowle has been my main combo lately as well!

I've been on a native-use kick lately. I just like the simplicity of no water, and you can pull some seriously great, dense, tasty hits with the Anvil this way. Eagerly awaiting the XL mouthpiece to enhance the cooling a bit (mine will ship when the new case cap is ready).

Are you more of a sipper or do you not have a torch that'll click the Anvil in under 25 seconds maybe? I have an omni xl, regular omni, and Simrell xl with intercooler and I think it's okay to say that they can't deliver the bodacious hits from even small loads that the Anvil produces.

Admittedly, you made the caveat that you use them for different purposes, still I think it's a minority view about not detracting in any way. If you like bigger hits, less conduction toastyness, and more power the Anvil is peerless compared to anything from dv

Good call. Get this Ronx torch and some fancy butane and you're golden:

Did you ever get a shipped email? I'm in no hurry and ordered orings maybe a week ago

Closest I get to native is dry with a j-hook. I only quoted you to say something mildly snarky about vestratto shipping but I guess I can abstain this one time

I ended up emailing them this morning. They responded fairly quick and let me know that one of the orings is still on backorder. The order status showed that it probably won't ship until early July. Kind of sucks but I'm also not in a crazy rush.

I am more of a flavor-chaser, I think, but I do like a big hit sometimes...hence the Anvil. It's just that I am not seeking from a Dynavap what I would look for from an Anvil. What I want from a DV is what it does pretty well: flavor seemingly beyond its form-factor; and nice conduction buzz; the occasional big-but-admittedly-not-as-big-as-an-Anvil hit in a compact, easy to use form factor that I can hit and forget, or hit and hit again, and then put in my pocket.

Even the DV/FMJ experience is different enough from the Anvil for me to happily have both. I guess I just have different needs at different times, so I have one device that answers one itch best, and others that do something else better. Apples and oranges.

All that said, I agree that the Anvil is a more powerful vape than the Dynavap! I'm just not sure that that's the better thing in every circumstance, or that it's the appropriate measure of the overall suitability of a Dynavap.

I'm glad I have the one, and I'm glad as well for the other!

Edit: I also got a Ronx...it blazes with the heat of a thousand suns, for god's sake! I'm afraid it'll melt my Anvil. If you see a faint glow over this way, I've tried the double-flame setting.

Truly. I got a backup Ronx but haven't unboxed it so the Honest pencil torch is my fallback when the Ronx needs filling and yesterday I was struck by how much noisier the less pointy flame on the Honest is and how it still takes longer.

I'm still curious to time the Ronx with the flame length just over an inch how I mostly use it: I'd swear it's under twenty seconds for my first click where the battery meets the oven.

Like I've said before, my habit of late is to do any Anvil bowl as a two hitter with the first heat at the seam between the oven body and battery, followed by removing the bowl for an early cool down click, and finally a dark roast approaching RTL right on the lower copper ring.

I only add that two hitter description again to point out that my use feels much more like a brief ten or fifteen second heatup and less like the 45-55 second marathon torch tedium from the pre-Ronx era

I haven't tried my Ronx yet--I've had pretty good luck with a PB207, blazer pencil torch (4000?) or esp a Firefox--but I will have to try it later. I did get it to turn down to about an inch, so maybe it won't melt anything!

How large is the flame on your pb207? I can't get it to properly drive my Anvil

It's like .75" inner flame. I switched to the Firefox after a few weeks because the results were lightish and I thought I could do better without having to mess with timings etc. I've stuck with the FF but the the PB207 did well enough, really. Full roast, just not an RTL roast. Iirc, I think I even got similar results from my little pear torch.

Yeah, some of them are pretty weak from the factory--I think their spec range is pretty broad, and mine escaped QC at the low end of the range. I realized they could be stronger when I watched Sneaky Pete's Anvil introduction vid, and he used one to good effect. I found some instructions on Reddit to turn it up, and now it works much better. It's still not my go-to for the Anvil, but it can do it.

You will need a tiny screwdriver, and, if you're old, good lighting, and maybe magnification.

I've had two PT4000s and neither of them held a candle to the Ronx speedwise. It's a puny flame for such an expensive torch; the range from low to max on both of them wasn't shit even though one was markedly better than the other.

On the subject of the Ronx flame specifically: I only fuel mine with one squirt lately. The flame can be faulty and flamethrowery with cheap butane and overfilling but even with fancy butane it seems to be a calmer torch when I just keep the tank topped off to let's say half. And even then the first stretch it clicks the Anvil more quickly than later when the tank is nearing empty

Agree with you and @Cannabiker below. I preach the Ronx gospel mainly because deciding how much of a RTL or lower temp hit you want to get can happen in half the torch time. I'd even estimate it uses less fuel but I'd prefer to leave that out of my equation with the point being: fuck watching any torch for 45 seconds for one heat cycle when you can do it with quiet, repeatable, adjustable results in half that time or less

Agreed. Like I said above I've tried two and it's just no contest. I have that dinky grey Honest single that Whiff used at first (the decent one that used to come with Bricks) and both the PT4000s are closer to that sort of flame than anything on the higher end of the Ronx range. And like you said: it's true you can get a good hit with weaker, slower torches; it's just some bullshit is all. I'll occasionally still try the PT4000 if the Ronx runs out and I'm always struck by how slow/weak it is with no true high setting

Thanks for this, man. I wonder if mine isn't just a little full. I don't really mind the time so much but a stronger torch is probably easier to be consistent with, I bet, since you're not pushing a limit. Gonna try this out later on!

I have a Firefox, a Ronx, and a Bernzomatic. All 3 work well on my Anvil. I usually use my Firefox because the flame is horizontal and it is easy to use hands free with the Anvil in my bong. The Bernzomatic is horizontal also, but much taller than the Firefox. The Ronx can be used hands free but the angled flame is harder to align, and varies greatly with the flame adjustment. The dual flames are even more finicky to align.

Here is an interesting torch for desk top use. https://www.bernzomatic.com/Products/Hand-Torches/Instant-On-Off/BZ8360

Truly. The flame adjustment on the Ronx is pretty bad too, lacking a linear feel from low to high and kinda going from not enough to too much easily if you don't baby it

One observation I've made between my Firefox and ronxs is that the Firefox has a terrible memory for it's last used flame size.

I need to adjust it every single time on the Firefox and it's honestly kind of annoying because the adjustment is very sensitive.

The ronxs does a much better job keeping it's last used flame size.

I'm not sure if this is something I am doing with my usage but just an observation. It's made me choose the ronxs for on the go use since it's easier.

Another observation is that I use a very slightly longer flame with the ronxs vs the Firefox. I don't know what the correct word is but the Firefox seems to have a higher intensity or speed with which the flame comes out. The ronxs has a lower intensity and I use a slightly longer flame for it for that reason

Like you I have the same problem with my Firefox but do love it. Your observation makes me wanna order a ronxs just to c for myself.

Edit: just ordered one on Amazon gonna get it Tuesday needed a backup anyway, and the single looks like it could work in the sticky brick as well.
Sry to bring up another vape

The Ronx is also much more quiet than the Firefox. Ronx is the only one of my 3 that doesn’t have a child safety lock, I also have a hard time locking it on with one hand (fingers too long). The Firefox has a child safety lock, but it can be disabled by driving the lock‘s pivot out.

We released some new Anvil stash designs today. A G2 version that stores 2 vaporizes instead of a herb compartment, and Slim version that just stores the Anvil, our stash tool and the Mag tool. Next up is an XL version that's about 0.6" tall to fit the XL mouthpiece. Feedback appreciated. - Doug

I love everything about the Ronx except refilling it. Unless the torch is full depleted of butane, anytime I try to top it off when it’s slowing down the butane is squirting everywhere. There’s a noticeable drop in flame size when butane is running low but I dread refilling it so I just keep it going till it’s out. Once that happens I can refill without much hassle. I’ve tried bleeding it partially and refilling but it’s a mess.

Torches tend to spit tane out once its filled, all the torches i have ever owned has done it and that how i know the torch is full. My Ronx does it whether its empty or half empty, the ronx is great i just wish is held its flame strength a bit longer...one good thing about the ronx is as long as its not a fresh filled tank its really hard to combust but also tough to RTL this wishing it was a bit stronger once fuel starts depleting

I got my ronx used it a couple times with the Anvil works good but I still reach for the Firefox heats it up nicely when riding the line.

Ronx is a great torch not too expensive easier torch to use on other flame powered vapes which is the reason I got it. That skinny flame is so clutch.
