Anvil by Vestratto

The thing i am loving most is i can puff on it like a joint. I really need a stem for this beast. Nice morning session with some Strawberry Cough and an espresso
My normal practice is to take intermittent hits, not looking to finish a bowl in one hit. Most of my vapes are convection on demand. Does the Anvil fit this use case? It sounds from what I'm reading here like either you get one enormous hit or 2 or 3 hits over the course of s ingle heat cycle. Is there a case to be made for this as an on-demand microdoser?
use the small chamber and heat the copper band at the top that way you can extend the session a little bit. i microdose session on here will get u medicated!!

So is this more of a session vape? If I heat till the snap, take a hit and then wait 15 minutes, what happens? Does the chamber continue to cook the weed? Or is it pure convection?

Found one of my cases that fits the Anvil. Any early Dynavap maker, Winegums’ Woodcraft, made this beauty.

The oven only stay shot for about 60 seconds so you can fill a half bowl and heat it then go back to it later if you wanted
Tried my Blazer Big Buddy and combusted. 🙄 guess it’s back to my small handheld torch after I clean my Anvil & Glass. 😑
Hahaha ya that Blazer Big shot is definitely waaayyy too big for the anvil, my creme brulee torch is not as powerfull. Single and dual flames are best imo and if you have a triple or quad i would recommend only heating in the middle of the chamber.

i wouldnt use anything more than a dual flame to "ride the Line" anything bigger i would only heat in the middle

Well, this has damped my VAS for a while. From the first try I've been getting full extraction in one hit with no stir or reheat, just as promised. I totally support the flower-dabbing concept--the only other way to get all the goodness out of that flower in a single, full-spectrum dose would be to press and dab it. This is the epitome, peak vape; you can't do better than full extraction.

From what I'm reading I got lucky with torch selection. On the first attempt I used a Blazer Micro like Sneaky Pete, on the full-size oven. It worked, but that's a slow little torch. So I got out my brulee torch, set it low, and hit the 1/2 bowl. In 35 seconds I had the perfect hit. This is what I've been looking for since the day I put down the bic and bong years ago.

For now I'm all about the half-bowl. That's just the right size for a perfect single hit through water--maybe a little big, if anything. I'm impressed by anyone who can clear that full load, but I was never a fan of 3-foot bongs.

Sorry, but I don't have much constructive to add. I've seen that John's talking about increased air flow, which would be great. At first I was thinking the oven needs some knurling around the top edge, or maybe some way to key it to the magnet lid, to get a better hold of it, but it hasn't proved to be an issue, and I sure like the sleek look.

I know it really is and I don't even have a proper torch ordering the blazer Firefox mini.
My dab consumption is down can't stress this enough, I hit my dyna and volcano with the wife that's it I don't touch anything at least since I got my anvil.

Tomorrow I will try sandwhiching a dab between some Japanese cotton

I'm in love all over again.

But is the weed being heated for that whole time, or only if I’m pulling air through it? That’s always been my main trouble with the Mighty.

It will continue to heat your material as the battery cools down because there is no way to go from high heat to no heat. You require time and temperature difference to cool it.

It is being vapes if you just let it sit there. Ideally, you'd wanna just take the whole bowl like a big dab if you wanna prevent that

After a lot of testing I will outline what I think can be improved.

It needs to really zoom in on the native experience. Somehow make the mouthpiece different so it does not get so hot. Find someway to add more native cooling (or wait for third parties to add cooling stems) either way, the native experience could become a big selling point. That joing feel has not really been pulled off before.

I've experienced a couple of times the heating oven being slightly pulled out by the cap magnet. It's not easy to tell this has happened without checking. If it does happen, it shuts off the airflow and has to be remedied mid heat cycle. Not sure if anything can be done here. I think another user has had this happen also.

Needs removable screens. I think this is already being worked on. Perhaps someway to make the diameter of the condenser larger for q-tip access (only if possible)

I would love an adjustable stand for the Anvil, to use with free standing desktop jet lighters. Even when we have induction heater functionality, it will still be nice to use butane. An accessory for at home hot swapping of the herb chambers would be nice, I know we have the magnetised cap, but I would love something more aesthetic and expensive, and can hold multiple herb chambers. I know these can be done by third parties, but I would be interested to see Vestratto create some accessories in the future also, as I have a lot of faith in anything they put out. It would also be an extra way to support the company.

With regards to making a model that works with existing Dynavap products, would it not be possible to create some kind of adaptor instead? This would avoid stratifying the product too much.

I agree with @RedZep analysis the native experience is a enjoyable one the mouthpiece just gets warm. How I try to counter that is by putting my lips to the end of the mouthpiece basically putting it all in my mouth touching the edge of heat guard. ( if that makes sense )

I have to say it makes it awkward. If I was puffing it like a joint I wouldn't have to but if you take a long inhale it heats up and burns your lips.

Have you looked into the cooling units sold by TRWW?

Well.. I finally ran out of paper thin arguments as to why I’d never need an Anvil.

Placed my order with La Centrale Vapeur just now. Hopefully Brexit doesn’t cause issues with it arriving.

Anyone ordered from them before? Any rough guesses when I can expect this to arrive?

Oh and @Vestratto I’m assuming the La Centrale units will be the latest revision that the yanks are currently on?

It’s such a pain in the ass getting vape stuff imported to the UK, please consider setting up something more local as there’s already quite the vapcap scene here - the Anvil is really not a hard sell to a lot of us!

honestly, the native experience is hot but it's fine. It could definitely be refined though. If there was a way to direct airflow into a wall of the vapor path before it hits our mouth it would be noticeably cooler with the caveat that more resin would build up in that spot. If the "cooling spot" coincided with where the heat sheild attaches, then we would have a good heatsink to pull a lot of heat out of the vapor... especially if said heat sink was made of copper, maybe a lower grade than what's found in the vape.

It could also use a modified venturi proximal to that area as well. I do not have a device but based upon what I have seen on here and some of the comments it may work. I have a preference to using it natively as I have yet to acquire any water pieces. Thx for all the information on this new device..it is appreciated as I wait for my name to be drawn for one..lol

Does anyone else's unit get real dirty real quick by any chance? Every second day resin starts to come out the mouthpiece and take it apart and Clean. Now this could be cuz of extended use, it's all I use all day for the last week.

So really, this is a session vape.
A session vape is one you can pass around for multiple hits, where you can just leave it on and enjoy a session with friends, or, more likely these days, a solo session where you sit with a vape and pull at will. The Mighty is a classic session vape.

The Anvil is not that. It will surely blaze a roomful of people, but it will be a process. You can hit it natively, and I suppose you could pass it around to give people a few pulls, but it cools fairly quickly, which means session over until you reload.

From my perspective, it's just a powerful one-hit water piece. And it does that so freakin' well, it doesn't need to be anything else.

Yeah I have had it fully blocked with bubbles of nastiness a few times already. Main reason I would love to be able to just do a quick iso wipe every few bowls.

I've found the Anvil to work incredibly well with this cheap bottle bong on dhgate. It's one of the most suggested bongs on R/chinaglass it's cheap but it's thick and airflow is incredibly open. Fits Anvil natively. If you are looking for a cheap piece to experience Anvil through water then it's a good go to. https://www.dhgate.com/product/the-new-cheap-clear-glass-bottle-bong-it/401484075.html

I'm finding it gets no dirtier than existing tubular butane vapes. I don't mind as cleaning is typically easier. I don't even bother with iso most the time. Just put in a bowl of hot water and fairy liquid (dish detergent in America?) And soak for an hour. Then rinse with hot water. I do this everything Thursday night ready for the weekend.
