So since we addressed hash in anvil a page or so back I have vestrattoed a couple of grams. It's amazing how capable it is. Since I started this vaping journey I've tried hash a couple times in several vapes but never had such satisfactory results that l even finished the gram I bought.

Admittedly without the addition of vape wool I would probably get fed up as well, because the cleaning would be slightly too much effort for a device that's awesome with herb anyway. But yeah, vape wool makes it crazy easy, just dump the load when done.

I have used in two setups. One is with the 18mm wpa kit + xl bowl, sandwiching say .14 and paired with my straight fab water piece. The other is with the integrated stem + regular bowl, sandwiching about .11 and paired with an extra long mouthpiece for longer vapor path. Get two fat heat cycles in both. Third is possible but loss of flavor and diminished vapor production makes me stick with the two.

I only have hash in atm. I have my Anvil and J-hook on my desk all day while working. Just have a heat cycle whenever I fancy. Very enjoyable. I start by heating halfway down, and get lovely flavour, but still decent clouds.

I'm finding it's mostly the MP that gets dirty when vaping hash none stop, and is quite easy to clean, without cleaning the whole unit. This is with using vape cotton.

Anyone tried the vhb 3D print induction heater yet? I’m close to needing a new torch and thinking of grabbing that instead but I’m worried that with induction it’s going to be heating the internal bowl equally to the outside which would kind of defeat the benefit of the anvil design. Day one anvil (public not the pre release) is still killing it today love that thing, only thing replaced so far is a screen and only once.

Side note my advice to hash users as I’m heavy into that, don’t sandwich like the dynavap, put the hash closest to the tip and backfill the herb, heat tip up and that way when you vape all the oil is dripping onto the herb and not through the screen as quick.

So I'd been struggling the first week or two to get consistent results with my anvil but no more, it was all in the torch- I just got a 503 pencil torch a few days ago & wow it's unlocked full anvil potential for me, needed that pinpoint flame for precise aiming & consistency, now getting damn perfect & repeatable results every time, often shaking my head in disbelief at how good it hits. It's taking about 45sec on max to click so wouldn't mind maybe eventually still getting my hands on one that can do it a bit quicker which seems possible from you guys' experience so a firefox or something else may still be in my future but for now the 503 pencil torch is absolutely fucking killing it, kosher kush w WPA kit through water ftw! Also bring on vestratto induction heater Im fucken frothin for that day to come, interested also to hear about 3d vhb results with anvil...

I bought the dremel versatip for this, which is a gas soldering torch. There are other ones too. Huge tank capacity and a very manageable and precise flame with a lot of punch

Vaping for the health of it.
I have the 503 torch and it use it as a backup as I find the flame can be inconsistent. Getting good results with a cheap Honest torch and I find it easier to manipulate to keep the flame focused on where you want the heat transferred. I have not tried some of the higher end Blazer, Dremel torches but it is on the acquisition list.

I have the VHB and KoilBoi IH’s? I like the VHB the best due to the form factor. Both work well with the DV products. I’ve been very interested in the Anvil but have no interest in dealing with torches again. I have not checked the dimensions on the Anvil but the VHB is a tight fit for DV where KoilBoi is looser. I assume the Anvil has a larger diameter than the DV. With the VHB I would be concerned about heat expansion causing the glass to break.

Waiting for John to offer his IH specifically designed for the Anvil. Guessing combined cost will be over $ 400. That is a serious commitment to a device and protocol. I also believe VHB is developing a IH specifically engineered for the Anvil. I am waiting to see what develops. I intended to grab a Revolve Gen2 stem but they have worn me out with waiting. Just trying to be patient and see where things go. We are fortunate to have some very excellent options right now to suit our personal tastes.

I have not used the VHB induction heater but I have used 5 other induction heaters with the Anvil. The induction heaters do not defeat the benefit of the Anvil design. I have never used a torch with the Anvil and I never intend to. The Anvil works great with induction heating, with the right technique.

Well, finally! Someone with the goods on using an IH on an Anvil! I don't use torches, so I've avoided the Anvil, but now I can reconsider...

The IHs I have been able to use with the Anvil are OK, but not optimal. Those are the plug-in SJK "Dental Wax heater" and the Wand. They are nice for convenience but the quality of the hits does not approach what I can achieve with the greater control of a torch and just the extra thermal energy of a torch that no IH designed for the heating needs of a Dynavap can match. The Anvil is a a heat hungry one!!

So IHs powerful enough to achieve greater synergy with an Anvil are very exciting and highly anticipated. "No more feeding a car that needs premium high octane gas the regular octane stuff" is maybe the best analogy here. Will it work? Yes. Optimal? No.

And if we are going with car metaphors yet, using a torch reminds me of the old car guy phrase: "No replacement for displacement." Sometimes you just need brute power.

Also: my Revolve gets so hot already after a couple IH rounds that I would not be comfortable using it with a vape like the Anvil that demands sooo much more energy. If that was what you were considering when you mentioned that one. Or be a guinea pig there and report back. The cooling/heat dissipation stem in your hands on the Revolve was a big letdown for me.

I ordered this @Aezhenn stem for Dyna that I hope will fit with the USA kit.

It's one of these. I got it from vaporisateur.net in stead of directly because I had some loyalty points and these beauties were ready to ship and with the glass lining they are exactly what I'm looking for. And after I saw that flame burl, resistance was futile.

Hope it will fit :)

By the way they got another model as well (and a third that's out of stock) and they are both surprisingly affordable. Especially with discount code SUMMER for 10% off, and you can still qualify for the free shipping as well. (I ordered from the store before, and though my last experience was a bit chaotic - shit hot lost in mail so shitty situation all around - the guy comes through.)

Of course wonderful craftsmanship from Aezhenn, can't wait to get it in my hands and share some pics with you guys :)

What stems have you been using with your USA kits? Or are there any stems you're interested in acquiring for the purpose?

Sooo about the WPA, sorry if I missed this somewhere (and can't search thread for WPA due to need for 4+ characters), but is the airflow adjustable at all? I am not seeing how that is done on the one that just arrived and feels like a ton of air is being let in from the gap below the Copper Core Oven. I am generally an open airflow guy, but these are much less dense hits than I get with the standard Anvil in a 14mm female connection...

So I worry I am missing something here.

Yeah I was a bit worried by the loss of adjustable airflow and being forced to use a much more open air intake, but it hits just perfect. The WPA kit is a great setup, can use it with water or dry glass.
I get crazy hits through my wpa. Maybe USA kit paired with Ed's tnt wpais more for you. That one does allow adjusting I believe (haven't tried mine yet besides one time, waiting for my 8mm stems to arrive).

Once you dial it in it's incredible. As you say, really repeatable. It's all in flame size/length, once you standardise that variable, you are golden.

No adjustable airflow on the WPA only wide open. There shouldn't be a gap at the bottom of the oven, the oven should sit flush

here is a link on how to assemble the WPA
