Anvil by Vestratto

Here's a quick rip thru water. I shelved the XL mouthpiece and went back to the stock configuration. After trying all Anvil accessories, none of them are essential IMO except the case (or any case, there are alternatives if you really hate the "$40 metal tube"). I found the full bowl is the only one I really need. Still preferring this vape over other options for a quick satisfying rip thru glass.

Always enjoy these rip clips and appreciate the extra effort with the abv shot. Just wondering if you've tried or enjoy the Whiff two hitter technique of heating a hit higher (like around the seam) for the first one and then removing the bowl between hits?

Nah, I haven’t. I prefer not to reheat with this thing. I typically heat in the little ditch right above the thermal battery. Then I dump it.

Hi,

I received my anvil since few days now. I find it nice with water, but natively, I find that it is a little bit too hot and I have a strange acid taste like metal or something else, even when I fire at the top copper ring. Need the XL moothpiece to use it without bubbler or is there some trouble ?

Honestly the XL mouthpiece doesn’t really add that much cooling, as for the metal taste some people claim to be able to taste stainless steel.. maybe you’re one of them?

I get a funny taste off of DV Titanium so I just avoid using Ti parts where I can

This question has got me thinking, why aren’t there any third party MP? Seems as easy as getting the right threading on it

vaped.
The spiral “flytrap” is Titanium.

from the Vestratto FAQ,
The Anvil Composition

The founder oven is 316SS
The users oven is 416SS
Bodies are 316SS
Hestshield is aluminum
Mouthpiece is 316SS
Fly trap spiral is titanium
Condenser is 316SS
Screens are 316Ss
Oring are made from Viton

Agreed. Love my Anvil, and through water it's great but this device is way to hot to be used natively for me with or with out the XL mouth piece.

Found a cooling solution that's satisfactory. Using two spare Simrell parts ( standard condensor and XL intercooler plus a generic screen ) cools the vapor considerably in the standard size Anvil. IMO the cooling is on par with my Simrell stems, with no noticeable air flow restrictions. Not a preferred solution, but it does the job.

FWIW the total cost of the mod is a few dollars less than the XL mouth piece and the shipping is more reasonable.

I have no problem with Ti (I have revolve stem, flowerpot and herbo Ti). Yes, maybe I don't bear stainless steel. I tried the anvil just with a sherlock yesteday and it is very nice. But this solution is not so nice for nomad sesssion because the sherlock take place and is fragile.

Maybe look into a silicone whip you can attach to the mouthpiece?

Not an ideal solution but it’s cheap and can fit into a pocket very easily

Urgh… here we go

Has anybody had experience with the tracking staying on “possible delay, verifying recipient address”

What does it all mean? Who do I contact to sort it?

There is a shipping info Anvil thread where you may find further info.
IIRC I had something similar displayed, the same day my order was delivered.

Oh yes of course there is! Sometimes it’s difficult to navigate this maze of threads and the rules of each one, I forget a lot haha

Thank you man, I appreciate that a lot and will search in that thread for similar experiences

The integrated stem I ordered arrived yesterday, so now I have all iterations: xl mouthpiece, xl bowl, integrated stem. I also went radical and removed the screen from the condenser, figuring the 2 flytraps would keep out most of the debris. And they do. Also, European Anvil users, I want to point you to the wonderful Proxxon Micromot microflam gas soldering pen. Large capacity fuel tank, very precise adjustment of the flame, a catalyzer attachment and good price/quality (between €40 -€50) for the entire soldering set, so you can take up new hobbies. German engineering too and you get a sturdy case for all your tools
I guess I'm going to try their flameless hot air gun tool as well

Just got my Vestratto and the build quality seems ok, I wish the spiral didn’t rattle in the unit. I cleaned the unit twice now and did a few herbless test pulls and am getting a strong metallic/motor oil taste.

I’ll keep messing around with it since there seems to be a lot of love for this unit.

I just received my integrated stem and it's really a pretty large improvement. I found the best way to understand how to use it is to fully assemble the unit and draw from the mouthpiece while covering the hole in center of the desired herb chamber while twisting the airflow valve simultaneously. You can actually hear and feel the difference as you turn it, then set it the way you like. I suggest doing this first before you pack the bowl every time and gives you a really good idea on how the draw resistance will be when you load the bowl and draw. I love it!!!!

Do u use an Allen key or u adjust the airflow by pushing down and twisting?

I ask cuz I have one as well and find it hard but doable to twist I leave it on the tiny holes on both sides but I do struggle to adjust but am able.

I haven't used the allen key trick yet. I just twist it. I don't do a second hit with my anvil. Once It clicks, I hit it and try to clear it in one shot. If I don't think it's done I hit it again without heating but never re-heat the same bowl. I adjust my airflow every time before and after I load it. This way I know how it will be before I put the torch to it. If you try my method like I wrote in my previous post you can really hear and feel the airflow adjust as you twist. It is not subtle at all and very audible and very perceivable.

Will the integrated stem fit the founder's version? I am thinking that an upgraded bowl and the integrated stem will bring the founder's up to the same punching class as the User's edition.

Hi,

For me, the XL mouthpiece was a game changer for native use. I added a spiral intercooler in the condenser and until that, i only use my Anvil natively, like a big blunt!
I don't use the spiral of the Xl mp (because it wasn't with the MP when I received it) but I guess it should do its job too!

Its a way to use a Simrell MVS stem as an extended cooling mouthpiece. Extra cooling & longer length for fat fingered fuks like me. You can add air after the combustion stroke via the MVS port. Makes native hits much more manageable. Works great thru water with the built in WPA on the MVS. ...... Hope that's not too many acronyms .....
I'll post some assembly instructions soon
