Hey guys.. Excuse the long post.
Long time lurker here. Made my way through so many wonderful threads, slowly reducing my potential picks but I post now to get confirmation
It all started with the Pax1, which I had tried down the coast on a surfing trip and I fell in love with the concept of a portable Vape. Naturally from there, I started to research and was surprised by how big this industry has become! I remember hitting a Volcano about 5 years ago but the desktop units wouldn't be practical/affordable for me so I thought nothing more of it.
Iv only ever combusted and after many years I feel it's weight. I don't enjoy cigs, but smoke plenty tabacco because of how we mix it in to stretch our supply. This creates a double edged sword because of how much harder it becomes to take t-breaks when nicotine has been fused with the herbal/habitual experience. So in addittion to stopping combustion, Im cutting tabacco out!
I feel I have finally found a way to FC and evolve my consumtion
So getting back on Topic. Iv narrowed down my choices to this sleek Alfa or the beast that is the Crafty...(dam u S&B! I say Dam u!!)
I ask you good people because personally I can't decide but these 2vapes have ticked all/most the boxes and now it's a 1v1. Bare with-me if I mention something that has been dealt with. Finished the Alfa thread but 150pages into the crafty thread I started to droll and realised it was time !!
Ok so,
Is the Crafty worth the extra cash?
Crafty : R4000 vs Alfa: R2600 (South African Rand)
Keeping it simple, I want to know if the Alfa can hold its own with regards to:
-Daily Vaping (solo)
-Vaping with friends (occasions)
-Effeciency with the herbs
-Small loads
-Design build and durability (latch oven lid vs twist oven )
-Vapour quality and quanity (would love to see big clouds)
-Cleaning
-Staying cool (Read the Alfa getting warm even when out in the snow. I live in a hot climate and outdoor Vaping would be great)
Most importantly, longevity. Now I know the warranties are both 2 years but On VapeStore SA, it says under the warranty for Crafty :: "The warranty is subject to the proper storage, transportation and use of the Crafty and does not include defects due to normal wear and tear or deterioration, including defects in batteries, screens and similar parts subjects to wear and tear."
I need my Vape to give me atleast 8-12months of service to be happy but I won't be able to afford sending these units overseas every time something goes wrong. It's crazy expensive but S&B mentioning the battery doesn't help my confidence. How are your batterys doing after 7+ months of use and what negitives have you noticed?
I would like to save the cash and with it buy a good supply/hydrotube(PP 14mm hydrotube is R950) for the Alfa but I reeeaally like the idea of reclaim and having a product that can step it up and really medicate the user without attachments. The ease of use also seems great on the Crafty, compared to a wierd lid and tiny mouth piece on the Alfa. I just love the look of that tiny thing tho, I would use it everywhere! Maybe that's another negitive factor to consider haha.
So to cut a long question short, I just want to know.. Can the Alfa do the job alright or is the Crafty just that more worth it for my first primary Vape that I want to rely on?
I seek out value but will always respect quality and am willing to pay the extra for that piece of mind. I can always pick up the Alfa Next year when they hopefully fix that oven(not crazy about that latch?)
Shoutout to all you members at FC, this community seems great.
Tagging afew peps that iv seen own both. Any advice or observations are appreciated. Want to make the choice in the next few days
Thanks everyone
