They have been talking about dosing caps for months and months. I have little confidence there are many resources going into actually making it happen.

i definitely have the old version, the mouthpiece comes out bery easily.

Was it just the mouthpiece that has changed or were there other improvements in the new version? Should i send this one back or could i just buy a new mouthpiece if it irritates me?

I might have to give it a go. I've been so stuck on my DynaVap with induction heater it's just hard to imagine anything hitting harder. Definitely nice too have a out and about portable where my DynaVap and wand are a little bulky because of two pieces and really doesn't look discreet at all in public. My x-max V3 was a major disappointment so I'm looking for something to replace it.

I started out yesterday about to order a HR Rouge, then found the new x vape roff or whatever it's called then I came across this. All around the same price point with the discount you posted. x vape is $100 though on discount right now HR rogue is about 150 and this one is about $200 so trying to weigh everything out but I definitely want a heavy hitter that can fully extractable like my Dyna vap can or my enano. Basically the bigger heater where my V3 pro seems to be very underpowered or just doesn't extract without it being underpowered. I was mainly looking at the healthy rips rogue because it supposedly has a new bigger heater. But then I see a lot of talk of the legacy pro competing with the tiny might which is always been the gold standard along with the mighty plus. Now I'm high and rambling. I got the Black Friday fever and VAS just started kicking in yesterday
I also came from a dynavap + Wand daily driver so now that I own the ALP I can tell you that you won't be disappointed.

It is definitely a messy vape and I give mine a wipe down every other loading but I think it's worth it. Will be difficult to reload in public without the dosing capsules that are supposedly coming Dec 15 but if the capsules don't degrade performance it could be a great portable. You'd need a tabletop and a funnel otherwise unless your hands are super steady.

What I like about this vape is the versatility. Here's what I've found so far:

- Microdosing works great, you don't need a full bowl
-Fine grind + light tamp full bowl = crazy clouds at temps above 390F. Hits hard like the dyna except bowl is 3x the size. You can finish 0.3g bowl in 3 hits or less. Start at 300F and work your way up if you want a longer sesh with super tasty hits.
-Coarse grind or even crumbled nugs work great and can be more forgiving for heat and harshness if you use higher temps. The unit extracts very well under all sorts of conditions but the downside is lots of stickiness to wipe down. Crumbling nugs is quicker and less messy for reload and cleanup (my favorite right now but I still use a funnel) but I still can't say it'd be easy to do this on-the-go. Also, I get the impression the unit isn't fragile but not as rugged as a dyna for sure. More discreet than the wand though and the hits are cooler.

Everything else is great, battery, charging etc. Very nice vape.

Okay so now we're talking you actually understand with the dynab app and wand can do if dialed in? (I use Skullcandy adjustable inserts) It just always blows my mind thinking that something could possibly hit harder because I could pretty much extract a bowl in one go to a perfect dark roast.

Kind of sounds like it's going to be the same deal as my wand and DynaVap for travel (If you have to reload)

Either way I could deal with the little things as long as I have a good performing unit. Only portable I have right now besides the wand is a X-Max P3 pro which I'm not really fond of to be honest I mean it's okay but you really have to have technique and work at it.

I keep seeing the messy fumbles with the bowl which sucks for sure but coming from a background when I was younger up crumbling up nugs in a car to pack a bowl in a pipe was the same concept to me. I can see it be messy with a grinder but hand breaking up nugs like you said I don't think you'd be terrible and then when you're done I imagine you could just blow the bowl out if out in public and not worry about having to clean much more than with your own breath? That's one thing the V3 pro shines at. I'm basically trying to justify the $200 when I already have a few setups but of course I always wonder if there's something better haha

I think this thing can hit as hard or harder, just bc bowl size is bigger yet it extracts super well. Also I never tried inserts. I free-ride my dyna with the wand up against the tip of the dyna. I find you can rest it perfectly against the little glass lip - no insert necessary. Plus I love to inhale while heating to get all the tasty terps. It's the best.

Straw method reloading from a container with ground herb is super clean and easy with a dyna I find. Way easier than the ALP and you just blow out the AVB when done, digging tool right there. Gotta love dynavaps for that.

Don't own the V3Pro but I'd guess the ALP is in another league.

The thing that makes loading and unloading messy is the sticky reclaim near the bowl. Any loose bud, vaped or not will stick to it like glue and then you can't just blow it away. Sucks. However you can mitigate a lot of this by emptying the bowl with the unit upside down so most falls out and doesn't get stuck. Anything dropped while loading by cumbling nugs will stick though and that's why I like a funnel.

Dosing caps could solve all of this so let's hope they show up soon.

Dosing capsules will be life saving, but it's also not that hard to load the vape, you just need to keep your weed already grinded in a small little tube, and then you just slowly put the weed in the vape.

Only thing that is a pain in the ass when loading is if you use the mighty screen over the weed, trying to not lose the screen while putting and throwing the weed out its kinda boring

Pretty much sounds like a perfect vape except for the bowl loading and loading part That's why I was originally leaning towards the x vape ROFFU. But I think that's going to be a more mid-tier vape compared to a heavy like the tiny might or from the sounds of it this one.

Yes I'm just going to have to do it

Pretty much in the same boat here, I love my dynas+IH and also pretty disappointed with the V3Pro for out and about, so I couldn't resist this 2x1 BF offer and pulled the trigger! looking forward for the capsules to be available, are going to be a game changer for sure. A 5-pack in a heat resistant airtight cointainer would be great.

Does any 18650 battery work with the ALP? Of course good quality ones, but would normal vape store batteries work?

Yeah, they should work well, just make sure to pick well-known high discharge rate cells in like molicel P28A, samsung, LG, sony-murata... in a reliable store.

I've been using a Samsung 30Q battery and have had no issues. I do charge it (and the original battery that came with the AVLP) on an external charger.

I am going to say that I really do not understand how some vapes can be even compared because they are so different and also, who is to say that those differences are good or bad. I feel that to compare the Pro with the TM2 in performance is crazy as fuck. For me personally, the TM2 blows everything out of the water as far as heavy hitting...its pretty strong. I love mine. The Pro is completely a different style for me...its the new Firefly and much much much more....its a love affair to tell you the truth. You have to clean it and love it. Its shape, etc...is soooooooooooooooo different. Performance of the PRO is superb...its just DIFFERENT. IT is not better than or less than...its to YOUR taste...I am glad there are options because I have with all my vapes a wish it was this more or this less...not one is perfect. I love that I have my TM2 because I can play around with the mouth pieces and stems etc. with the PRO...its pretty much it is what it is...its excellent just the way it is.

Received my Legacy Pro today and soon as I took it out of the box, the mouthpiece fell off so I guess I got the older version as well 😞

I just couldn't pull the trigger the terrible loading was my deciding factor unfortunately as much as I wanted it It just seemed like a nuisance and not what I was looking for as a main portable for out and about events. Hopefully they get that sorted out and I will be a customer but. Probably made a mistake by not going with it?
