Ah... New Jersey in the 20th century...land of radiation, polluted rivers, chemical plants, asbestos everywhere and cancer related deaths.

I grew up there from the 50's to around 1980. I remember the Passaic River as being in the top 10 most polluted rivers in the country. And cancer deaths in NJ were the highest in the country and Passaic County had the highest rates in NJ (My county).

I'm still cancer free...but I wouldn't be surprised if something is still lurking in the woods waiting for me a bit further down the road...

I think it falls more along the line of trying to make it sound cooler or something. Like spelling easy
