Hi guys, I haven't been too active on FC lately but I just thought I'd drop in & check on you guys again. I'm a little sad to see how quiet it's been though, no new updates Hazy?
That was quit a read Farmer, good job!
I'm glad you like the Ehle too. I went astray for a little while in a short flirtation with high-end glass, but the 250 is where it's at for me.
I didn't know there was a new version of the small PSU btw, good thing I checked back here finally
My small one has been my to go to PSU for a short while now that my other one developed an annoying whine, & I was already thinking of adding a switch to the chord because I got tired of plugging/unplugging it.
Nice SAK btw, is that a Trailmaster?
Welcome to the toasty world of high temp vaping.
15v is where its all at baby!
what you got no love for the saxo no more?
It took a bit of getting used to, but I like mine a fair bit now.
The fucker just won't fit to my mouth and I have to press real hard to get a good seal!
You know its a bong & theres no need to deep throat it like they do in those freaky little European productions with all the latex n stuff?
OhTheAgony... welcome back. how goes it on your end??? any closer to bringing these to the public??
Hey mate! Long time hearing from you! It's a Locksmith...
Mind that the VVPS with the switch runs a little hotter (SS), is a little heavier (SS again), is a little noisier (open grilles) and is of lower built quality somehow... I now use the black one and keep the shiny one as a backup.
And about the EHLE... Yeah, can't be away from it for too long... My Saxo is gathering dust in the closet. When the EHLE breaks one day though (I hope not), it will be replaced by a fatter, stronger 5 or 7mm one of about the same dimensions. I hope they don't scratch so easily too. But for the price I can't complain!
Some thoughts on the Pod now. I have started hitting the Pod at a higher voltage again for a couple of days now (15V) trying to draw a little harder overall compared to when it rests at 14V and as a result the hits have to be shorter and I must be more careful not to char the top center of the load. The result is pretty interesting... I was using the Pod like this at the beginning but went for lower voltages as weeks passed cause my throat started bothering me a bit. Before two days I was down to 13.2V, my throat still giving me trouble and I would need 3-4 loads to get me where I like to be, in the clouds that is! I thought some of my buds where just weaker and I said to myself: "ok, time for a little drop in my tolerance, nothing wrong here, I'll get back to better buds soon...". I would wake up in the morning and I would need 2-3 GonG stems (0.1-0.15g) to start the day. This morning it was just 0.05 and I am feeling much better and higher than yesterday. I just went to 15V and my hits were shorter and denser. Interesting bonus is that my throat and tongue feel better with the short high density hits!!! I guess longer exposure to lower density vapor hurts them more after all...
I can only blame this to the balance of the cannabinoids of each hit. I think that when you inhale a full spectrum of cannabinoids at once, like we used to do with smoking, it gives you more balanced and strong effects...
Ohhh! And the Pod, judging from vids of the Hi, is an equally capable shotgun! It gives thick thick vapor at the bling of an eye if you need to!!!
I was talking with Hazy about hot spots but after these last sessions I believe they can be controlled if you are careful enough, even at 15V! What people are saying about the e-Nano and Hi... Easily applied here too I believe! The Pod is also like a race car and if you step on the gas pedal you should know what you are doing! It will be highly rewarding of course!
Party on!!!
Locksmith, of course, I should have noticed the nail-nick
Even better though, much better tool-set
My old Alox got taken from my luggage by airport personal a few years ago, but I recently replaced it with a blacked out Swisstool
I've been using the hotter heating element for a while now and it seems to work well. At 12V I'm getting the same performance as the standard element at 13.2V, so hopefully it will produce decent vapor even from a basic 12V wall wart.
Also I've been thinking that because most of the demand for the pods comes from the US, I am considering having the pods assembled and mailed out from there. This would save a lot on postage costs. Obviously the woodwork would still be done here in Australia, and pods destined for Australia and other countries would still be made here.
I love that pod too, OTA. It is one of my favourites and I was very reluctant to part with it! Wet and snowy over there eh? We've been having a heat wave here. It reached 37C today and it's still 32C at night as I type this. It has been really hot in this apartment and the aircon is broken. Haven't been getting much sleep lately
Anyway, I haven't been around much because I'm still figuring out what to do next. I've realised that there's no way I can use my apartment for pod production. I made enough of a mess here just getting the beta pods done Also I've been thinking that because most of the demand for the pods comes from the US, I am considering having the pods assembled and mailed out from there. Another issue I have needed to revisit is regarding the stems. I'm unhappy with the variation in the diameter of the stems as this is causing problems with some of the beta units. I've found a type of higher quality stem that should be much more consistent. They are a bit more expensive but the main issue is that I can only get them in 13mm diameter. This means that I will need to change the design of the pod slightly, which will involve getting some new prototypes made and tested. I will order some of the new 13mm stems to check the quality first though.

Seeing you guys enjoying your Ehle 250s has made me determined to finally get one. EDIT is out of stock at the moment but should have more in a week or so
And hazy, what do you think of making a pandora pod? That would solve your logistics problem, lower the price a bit, and you could still assemble for a higher price and rent a place with that extra income.
I'm only 3km from Albert Park so I could hear the engines screaming around today. Weather became rainy yesterday which must have annoyed a lot of people. Back in the "good old days" I used to ride my motorcycle around parts of that trackHey man, good to see you post again!
Yeah, I should make more photo's. I'm still waiting for some sunlight to make the grain pop and the colors come out, but this winter just doesn't want to seem to pass.
Oh man, a heatwave, a GP in town, I wish I could trade places with you right now! Is Albert Park far from your place? It's your last chance to hear the V8's this year
I'm curious about that new heating element, is that the 22 Ohm version you're playing with? You're welcome to send me a screw-in version of one of those if you like, we are here to test after all
I do not like the news about the stem change you mention though, but mainly for selfish reason. I guess this could mean we won't be able to use any of the new stems with our betá Pods in the future?
I am curious about the inner diameter as well, how will the bowl size compare to the current offering with the new stems?
Any chance you can send me one of those GonG HS stems soon btw, or two even? I would like to use the Pod more than I do now, but the medium stem isn't really useful to me as daily driver.
& it's about time you ordered that 250ml, haha. You've been talking about that for half a year or so now. I'm sure you will not regret it. Don't go cheap and get that diffused downstem as well please
Nice idea, but I have to agree with Natural Farmer. Unlike the Pandora, assembling the pod is actually quite trivial. Postage and producing the individual parts make up the cost. The glass and the electrical parts come from the US, so it makes no sense to be sending stuff back and forth across the Pacific. Also, knowing that every package needs to clear customs every time is kind of worryingAnd hazy, what do you think of making a pandora pod? If you check out many of my posts in the past, I have often cited this as being responsible for the immediate head change and therefore satiation. It's an effect I have dubbed 'The X-Factor'. So it isn't just you, I'm in full agreement.I can only blame this to the balance of the cannabinoids of each hit. i have to remove this thread from my "watched" list till the unit is in production. seeing all of you with Hot Pods makes me want one soooooo bad that it fuels my jealous streak and i know Hazy is just not there yet. when this goes into production i will come back as i am willing to bet i will buy one.... till then..... c-ya

I'm using an 18 Ohm resistor for the hotter heating element. Remember Ohm's Law? Lowering the resistance increases the current
The new stems will not fit the beta pods, however I will keep a stock of the 12mm parts. The new stems come from the same retailer so it is no problem to get more parts as necessary. The new stems will have an ID of 8.6mm which is slightly smaller than the current ones. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about your request for the smaller stems. I'm wondering though, why can't you just pack a smaller bowl?
I will definitely get the diffused downstem with the Ehle 250. If I'm going to do this I might as well do it properly!
My favoritism of narrow stems is purely based on my own observation which wasn't done scientifically at all, but nevertheless I am convinced that a narrow, slightly longer than wide bowl gives the densest vapor & the thoroughest extraction, that's why I keep bugging you about the smaller bowls. I just feel I'm wasting weed on unsatisfying hits with a wider bowl
