I'd vote Pod - though it might get confused with PD.
Oh man, that was a good story, why did you edit that post?
(sorry, just happened to catch it )
Screen fixed btw, I was over-thinking it (just force it in there, lol).
I grow my own & dont have a job.
you do the math.
(I am however thinking of turning professional) lolz
OTA, glad you're getting it figured out Thanks for the pics, now I can see that the UD actually is a little larger than the pod.
I've found that experimenting with the quantity and way that I pack the bowl has had more influence on vapour production than anything else; that's my experience with direct draw anyway. The HS/DDS inner diameter is the smallest I can get. I've been using the DDS quite a lot but I've also found that I can get good results with similar small quantities in the DDM by packing it properly.
Feel free to use whatever voltage you like, as the heating element is easily replaceable. You will probably need something like needle nose pliers to start unscrewing the element, but you should be able to mostly unscrew it by hand. Be careful with the pliers though, they easily slip off the power socket and can scratch it. You might be able to use a bit of cloth to help avoid this.
To everyone who I haven't contacted yet, I apologise, I've had a bit of a slow week and there have been a number of distractions. I'm really keen to get these pods off my desk so you should hear from me soon.
As far as naming goes, I've found myself just calling it "the pod" as it seems easiest.
Nice idea about the light. It's something I had dreamt of doing but I think I'm asking for trouble given the heat. I did make a screw in LED to replace the heating element and turn the pod into a decorative lamp.
To make the glass stems longer, you could always hook up a non-diffused GonG downstem to the GG-stem. Might take a trip to the local head shop, but I managed to find one for using my VXC Cloud dry.Got my Pod in the mail yesterday (thanks Hazy!) but haven't been able to really do anything with it until tonight. I'll try to get some pics up soon--but pics don't do these things justice, imho. These pods are definitely functional art.
The glass stems are pretty cool. I agree with others that the DDS is a good size (and smaller ID might be interesting to try too, if that ever became available). I like that you can clearly see the load in the end of the glass stem--makes it easy to see how dark it's getting. The only suggestion I have for the glass stems is maybe make the DD stems a bit longer? Maybe another inch or two? The GG is awesome too--fits great in an 18->reducer to drop into a bubbler.
