So after an overnight soak the pearls finally came unstuck and I was able to scrape some of the build up off but it’s still far from clean, I’m going to let it soak the rest of the day. I don’t want to heat this one because idk what chemicals it might release ( it’s the Pro HD version) so I’ll let it soak one more day then try the baking soda technique. Hopefully that’ll remove enough for me to torch clean without staining the quartz too much. From the results y’all have said though I don’t think the Pro HD simple green is as efficient as the regular kind, in case anyone was wondering haha

EDIT: I love DC clear but I didn’t realize how expensive it was compared to SG. Also soaking in DC did absolutely nothing this time, but’s what I normally use

Can you elaborate on the staining? You should be able to get your banger to brand new clean condition with a Blazer Big Shot in just a few minutes. If the buildup is that intense, I would just warm it up with the torch a bit first, use some qtips to wipe up what you can, and then blast it for about 2+ minutes. Done. No chazzing, no staining, just a crystal clear banger! :2c::)

I also had trouble using just iso with my quartz bangers/pearls. Iso works perfectly on everything else, just not my banger and pearls. Simple green works so much better, ESPECIALLY when it's warm. Same with using an ultrasonic cleaner, though to be honest simple green works well enough for me when it's warm. My ultrasonic cleaner has a heating function, but I've seen some people here use candle warmers or mug warming things.

As promised here are some pics of one of the home brew kits being used. I have pre tuned all 3 and they just need shells. But as you can see in the pics. The shell is optional as long as you keep the bits from touching each other =)

List of parts:

1 x Omron 800 series controller
1 x 40amp SSR
1 x rear power plug that has a master power switch
1 x front or side switch for controlling the power to the coil
1 x 5 pin XLR plug

I will also supply extra wire ends so you can shorten wires as needed

@710Coils Looks sweet! ETA for cases?

When you say pre-tune, do you mean you already did the auto-tune? And would a push button coil switch on the front be possible like the high five lcd model?

@biohacker Yes pre tuned so all setting and auto tune have been ran. So you just need to plug and play.

The switch can easily be swapped out. Cases are up to the person that gets them. I personally hate cutting the cases, but enjoy wiring the units up. But that being said a typical case can run an hour to cut the holes and make sure they have the proper fit. Last build was in a large cigar box and I made a dual controller out of it. I have also done these in the metal lunch boxes and they are pretty easy to cut and add the enail bits into =)

Awesome know we talked about a dual unit and I defiantly still am interested just have not been able to justify since I already have one but should within the month if still available as it is starting to be needed!

Just came on here to post about the carb caps! They are quite durable. Ive dropped my 30mm many times(mainly just rolls off my desk when i forget to put it in its spot) But so far it hasnt broken or cracked all my other carb caps tops came right off when dropped but still functional.

Wanted to ask you Shane. Do you still use terp turners or do you prefer what you stock? think youve said but i forget.. got a terp turner awhile back and the top broke and never bought a new top as i prefer yours, but only got a day of use so want to see if i was just mistaken! Thanks man

@maxymods I will be keeping these in and if I do sell out. I will have more parts on the way =)

One of the best things about Quartz Pi caps is they are really durable while also being sexy. I have not had any plans to add the terp tuner caps since the Quartz Pi caps work so well. The only thing they really do is spin the pearls real fast and the pearls just need to move around to be successful =)

Hope everyone is having a great week

Well in past experience when I had bad build up and it wouldn’t a tip off before I torched it would leave a little spot where it burned off. I’ve only had one tinyyyy spot on the 710 coils banger so far.

@Hackerman no I do not, Ive been thinking about picking one up.

And next time I’m gonna be sure to pick up the normal simple green so I can heat it. Happy to report a longer soak and baking soda + iso scrub is working really well just a few spots left that I want off and a little ring on the bottom that I’ll definitely have to torch off but that’s no biggie.

If your leaving a spot behind when torching, you likely did not torch it long enough. It can take a lot of heat and a little extra time to get some of those thick black spots off the quartz.

While I do agree, it can also very easily devitrify, if you're not careful and watching out for it/ experienced. I've learned the hard way!

I believe this has to do with quality of the quartz as well. I have inserts from random manufacturers I ordered off dhgate that have shown slight devitrifcation due to prolonged(firing too slowly through the devitrification range of temperatures) torching during cleaning, however my banger from 710 has never shown any signs under the same treatment. All my torch cleaning is done on stands and not by freehand so I am very consistent and can assure you I was not the variable.

Oh no I hammered that little spot with heat for a while, it just glows red but never shrinks or disappears, Maybe it was a piece If dust or something that landed on the nail when hot, but honestly it’s a pinhead sized spot so I don’t particularly care. In any case glad to say with a quick torching the nail is back to new!

And @biohacker any things to look out for to avoid devit when torching ? Before I got this I’d been using my SiC halo for years so I’m a bit rusty with quartz hahaha

@Kanna_Kult I am happy to replace it if you want. You can even keep the old one =P

Anything left over from dabbing should of burned off. Shoot me a message and I will get you setup with a replacement banger and that will give you a solid backup banger if ever needed =)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day

Respect, but I devitrified my 710Coils banger. Entirely my fault, and a lesson learned in devitrification

Yep, textbook devitrification. Exactly same thing happened to me.

STOP when you see that spot glowing red... something about what @nosmoking said about that range of temps. And also his advice about "free hand torching".

That's some pretty impressive CS Shane, but just so you know this is not a 710Coils banger issue, but rather a user error issue.

You are too kind! I would definitely appreciate that but it’s not necessary! Totally your call :) I’m still a very satisfied customer either way!!! @biohacker I was guessing I had started to devitrify because it wasn’t burning off but thank for for the confirmation I’ll definitely be more careful. I love showing my set up to my friends who think “enails are for mids and you get no flavor” and completely blowing thier minds with the 710 coils gear this has definitely been the best investment in dabbing I’ve made in longer than I can remember

I have now officially completely eliminated q-tips! I have a shot glass 1/2 full of 99% ISO (Costco) and another with just plain water. Immediately after my dab i'll use the straight tweezers to remove the opaque insert and single pearl, drop it in the ISO, and like magic it comes out like new. I soak it in the shot glass with plain water for a few seconds, and then I used a tiny piece of paper towel to dry.

Every single dab gets a squeeky clean opaque surface, and i'm saving a pretty good amount of qtips, at the expense of only 1/2 shotglass of ISO per day!

I work with this technique now, amazing effects. Im a little scared everytime the hot insert hits the shooting glas, cause of the sizzling and clouds on top of the iso, but that works much better then the qtipping. The shooting glass looses izo fast this way and the izo becomes brown after 4-5 times. BUT, seems like the best way to clean perfectly and fast. Just used 70% izo from pharmacy. Then air dry and 2 sec torch. Will get purified water today.

To @Hackerman :

I was confused too as i received the banger. It was quite ineffecient with the flat caps i had, so i used my china banger with torch and put the 710Coil away until i got a good cap. Then i tried the quartz Pi cap from Shane. Now im using 710Coils only and my herborizer TI to vape those pressed pucks. No need of my china bangers anymore, cause they dont reach the performance of the 710coils in any way. Never thought about milking dense clouds fast @ 550° on the auber unit.

I had similar experience with the china bangers once, the Cap is so very very important... it makes the whole thing working.

If that's the case, the banger and the cap should be sold in a set. When I bought my car, they included tires.
No offense bud, but as the dude would say..."well um, thats just what you think man."

This isn't a new indusrty or even new products. They have been sold this way for years and its not likely to change. Shane has offered to create packages for noobs to banger setups for those that don't already have a bubble cap. People replace their bangers due to damage, devitrification, or even just too lazy to clean it. They do not want to biy a new cap everytime. Also take notice that many caps are universal to most bangers of a certain diameter meaning you could use the same ball cap and trg all the different style bangers of that dia. Theres plenty of good reasons they are not sold as a set, but as I mentioned most sellers will make you a package deal if you ask.

Was not my intention to release multiple shitstorms.

I like your comparision with the car hackerman. I compare this stuff myself often for joke and a bit truth in it. I bought myself a used car end last year, from the best merchant in my country (he got this ranking from a very popular journal from same country), so if you look for a trustworthy guy who sells cars here, you would be looking for this guy.

Im satisfied with that car but, the support will loose the fight easily against Shanes support here. I payed about 6000€ for that car, guess what i payed for a banger, a coil and some smaller stuff i buyed from shane.

(There was a minor issue with that car, but the seller was like, ah no prob, i have something to solve your problems in stock, its just 99999999999999999.99)

(There was a minor issue with my 710stuff, the seller was like, ah no prob, ill send you immediatly a new for free, and some stuff for issues occured)

So its 710Coils vs Best Car Merchant 1 : 0

But as 710Coils dont sell cars, just the parts, its not fair comparison for the real Car Merchant. I have to compare with sellers which just sell car parts, oh no we wont compare anymore. The image of carpart sellers are really really bad here, i experienced myself, too long story.

Ok talked a lot of bullshit now, you cannot really compare cars and bangers. agree with @nosmoking here.

You dont need a cap, you can go up in temperatures and i think it will milk up right away. Hotn hurty, as they say. But that will probably harm your health more. If you want to go low on temperatures and the most healthy experience, but i assume that you already know all that stuff @Hackerman , expecting that you have lots more experience then me (with pressing f.e.) but would be glad if i can help you out with any information or experience i got with the equipment. You can P.M. me if you like.

For cleaning purposes i found this page https://www.highlyeducatedti.com/blogs/information

I didnt found your method there @biohacker , but i like your method a lot. Have some destilled water now and dipping right after dipping in the iso, and then rubbing with a tissue. Results are perfect.
