with the 50 and the 20, i cut the circle about 2 mm wider all around. Then i carefully folded the edge all around and rolled it flat. they came out perfect.
the 10u feels much stiffer so i cut the circle exactly the size of the paper filter.

I was on a cattle ranch once (48 yrs ago), and they "freezer branded" the calves instead of red-hot iron branding. They'd place the branding irons into a bucket full ISO and dry ice and let them chill for awhile. I don't know if its adaptable though, here.

i gave my scraps to a friend whose bho tube is about the size of a roll of dimes.
the 10u alone clogged immediately.
20u stacked with 50u didn't have as much back pressure as he likes and may have decreased the yield.

I want to let everyone know about the unbelievable customer service experience I had with my order from 316twholesale.
I placed an order late one evening for an extractor kit. The next morning, I realized that I also wanted to purchase some filters of different sizes. I used the Support link on the site to ask if it was possible to combine items to save shipping costs, or whether I should just cancel the original order--then reorder everything on one invoice.
Imagine my surprise when the next evening I received a phone call from the owner of the company. We had a lengthy discussion about what I was trying to accomplish, and he gave me some excellent advice on filter size, mesh differences, etc. After 15 minutes or so, he said not to worry--that he would take care of me.
A couple of days later, my package arrived. He had upgraded my extractor kit to the larger size--but no other filters were present. Oh well, I appreciated the upgrade and could always order other filters...
THEN, the next day--another box arrived from the company. This one had the filters we had discussed. I assume that he had sent the original package before we spoke, then sent another after our discussion, without a request from me. I can't think of any other companies that I have ordered from that would have done the same.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with my experience with 316twholesale. If you are in the market for stainless mesh filters, I'd recommend you give them a look.

no i havent purchased anything yet. is that syringe glass? i know those filters can be expensive. i have looked into them a bit and all the glass stuff is pricy. besides i would like a large one. i looked into getting really nice SS pipe w/ fittings. i would just the plunger. i suppose orings could be use to plunge.

I have 50, 25, 10 micron screens, the 10 is obvious, its' stiff & almost like foil because the holes are so small, when I first got these I earmarked either the 25 or 50 so I could tell them apart but have forgotten which one I earmarked
...one is slightly stiffer and more foil like than the other, but wondering if there is another way of telling a 25 from a 10 ?

great question. i run steaming hot water through it, reversed, a few times. other than iso not much more than that, but now you have me wondering. maybe just boil the thing eh?
^^ like he said. Boil it. I think if it is a violent boil, it will shake loose hidden debris. But I think, ultimately, these will not be good for infinite use. I bought extras so that I can toss them (or repurpose) if I have ANY doubt. I have not yet cleaned my 10 micron "screen bowl" I made for my KX run. I'm not in a hurry to do another. There was an occasional phantom alcohol flavor. And it was less terpy than my BHO.
How did it work for you? I can't figure out a way to keep it from going out the sides of the cap? I'm not sure that it even is but I've got myself convinced.
I will try it before my next run.
