2024 Most Reached For

My 2024 Trio of Vapes used daily:

Log Vapes. In the last three years there has not been a day without a GTR (14MM Male) and an Underdog Alpha or SC3+ on. I mostly medicate at home, and they deliver heat where you want it, you can go for clouds or chase flavour ( I like using my UD Alpha for my nice tasty strains, the regular Alpha as the Alpha Plus I own is too much for my lungs and does not get much use). The GTR by @Alan are my all time favourites. I do have peaceful meditative sessions with my smaller logs HI and UD just like I use my Vapman and Lotus: when my thoughts lead to them and I dearly enjoy those moments.

The “stick style” vapes have become over the course of the year the regular daily partners of the logs. I had an earlier experience with DV that I enjoyed but kept only a few of them after I sold my collection. The OG TA revived my interest but I was not able to get one. I later got the never ones (2,3 and 4 versions). Then I got the Fusion’s, the Tempest, the Stunner, the Anvil and the Tornado! I use torch either the Fusion’s and the Stunner’s, the Wand and thr Camouflet Inductor for Tempest, Anvil, TA and Tornado, the Flare for Fusion, DV and sometimes TA, Anvil.

Finally the Phase3 ZX! The ZX drew my attention when it was being developed but my interest and focus were on my log vapes at the time. And I did not get overly excited about ball vapes and only tried my first one when I was gifted a SS Zeal, but it did not find much use. The ZX has become a full member of my favourite trio of vape styles of 2024, of before 2024 and maybe of after 2024! The ZX is powerful, can be used any time of the day at the temps that suit those moments, and, for me, it is among the best devices to unlock terpenes and deliver smooth tasty hits. With ease.

is this thing on?
This year's all around convection superstar for me has been the Toad, especially being outside. Rarely used but always happy with it was the Wunderlampe and inbetween the TP80. Nothing much changed!
For the conduction range it has been Lamart's awesome BakX, The Vapman bunch (OG's and Click now) and for out and about conduction the Toad got a friend, the Firewood 9 which packs some impressive power in a tiny package.

Happy holidays out there!

Time for the annual MRF awards.

My fellow VASers what were the top vape(s) in your hand the most in 2024? Maybe you tried several but there was always that one you kept coming back to. I'd love to hear from all users, the members that have a couple of vapes but also am most intrigued by those of you that have many choices. What was your Most Reached For? Why?
Desktop - Cannabis Hardware B-2
Portable - Airizer Solo 3

Tempest but tbh it's mostly "new shiny" that made it that.

Other than that it's still Mi and iHeat 99% of the time.

Toad gets some use as it's just a beautiful piece but it does not perform as well.

Ball vape eh?
Ok, gonna save you a step or two:
Phase3 ZX:

This little black Zirconia heater holds 3mm ruby balls. The coil heats the housing, which heats the balls. You pull air through the balls and then the bowl, roasting your herbs VERY effectively. They are all they're cracked up to be, and this one is the best of them, imo. Flavor and effects are as good as you'll find.

Other ball vapes are also very effective, some are larger with more capacity, some are torch-heated pen-style vapes. They've knocked a couple kings off their thrones (Sticky Bricks, unfortunately) and it's hard to see something more effective at this point.

they are the most popular at the moment... they are mounted on a bong or a bubbler they are the devices that hit harder and with better flavors I have 7 other vaporizers that have ended up in the drawer since I got a ball vape:D
Well, now that’s got me intrigued. I like heavy hitters.

That’s a fine looking bong. It does sound interesting, not super interested in using a torch… but what is the heat source, plugged in the wall or batteries?

Wall. It's got a controller called a PID that regulates the temp of the coil. Some can be hooked up to batteries if desired, but they're mostly wall-powered. It uses banger-heating tech to roast dry herbs, essentially.

Thank you guys, that is really useful info. I feel like this could maybe take the place of my LSV. I can’t believe It’s still running, so not sure how much time it’s got left lol

There's a kit to turn your SSV into a ball vape! I have one for my DBV and it is awesome. You can replace the heater cover and set it up super easily.

Just a dude
Phase3 Z8 all day long, TWO years straight! I’ve bought a few portables but if I’m at home, it’s the only thing I reach for. So crazy because I never personally believed in an “end-game vaporizer“ but for me, the Z8 experience has been like what they say about true love: it happens when you’re not looking for it! :luv:

Because the Z8 knocked me off my feet and exceeded my expectations and my expectations were pretty bloody high. I’m not sure what vapour qualities could be improved upon, this bad-ass little device can do whatever you want with as little or as much flower as you want. I would never hesitate to recommend the ZX to anyone who values purity and flavour, if you’re looking for a top-tier device- go with Phase3.

What a year! 2024 saw several (mostly second-hand) acquisitions, some giveaways to friends, and marked my entry into brick vapes which I now intend on making with some family to give away to friends and community members!

Most reached for is split between three:

Camouflet Injector
Tempest
OWW Micro v3

The Injector is a super solid little injector head that heats up beautifully with the Inductor. The two new kittens we've got preclude any ability to have permanently-on coiled devices, so most injector-style vapes are out, but the Inductor means I can have a hit ready to go in twenty seconds without having to worry about leaving out a device set to several hundred degrees. It's my primary heavy hitter with friends and works beautifully with my SB Hydro Maxx.

The Tempest was long-awaited in my household and the honeymoon phase has passed but I am still bringing it with me most places. I prefer as much convection as possible in public to reduce some of the smell of conduction and to avoid coughing, and the Tempest absolutely delivers. Insane customization options built into the device itself mean it is a great device to take to friends' houses to help them figure out what they like, and the thing was literally made for the Reload which has quickly become something almost always in my purse.

And the OWW Micro knocked my socks off in a way I wasn't expecting when I first got it! The Hydro Maxx was the first brick I got and I love it, but something about the relatively-shallow, wide bowl and the diffuser in the Micro leads to hits that are as close to perfect as I've experienced. The form factor is also excellent, and I have a Dynabox Tetra Hydro on the way with a titanium heating element that I am excited to try with induction so I can reduce my butane usage.

Hope everyone is having a lovely last few weeks of the year, and may we ring in 2025 with revolutionary care and good vibes and thicc-ass clouds!!

PHASE3's ZX is definitely the vaporizer I have used the most this year. I like it because it is very efficient and powerful, with smooth and flavorful vapor. The learning curve is almost nonexistent, and it is easy for everyone to use. It is small and lightweight: in addition to being very handy it heats up rather quickly, so it also lends itself to temp stepping. It is a very fun vaporizer to use because the vapor is generated very quickly replicating, if you will, a classic bong hit, with vapor generated by convection heating. I recommend it to all the enthusiasts here: try this gem and you will be amazed!:spliff:

The one that is new? But then I keep reaching for some of the older ones too. Maybe in order of acquisition: Mighty+ (replaced a couple that are no longer in rotation, first vape to make me prefer vaping to smoking), IQC (only to remind me to research before buying and to not believe Vape reviews on youtube.) Lobo, Dynavaps (3+), Firewood 9, TM2.
