Comfortably Numb
Tafee Bowle II
Since getting Bowle I, no matter what vape I’ve tried, I always end up getting back to Bowle as a daily. Hits hard, great flavor and it’s fast/convenient to use.

Tempest
I’ve always had different Dynavaps in the rotation to get the joint-like experience but Tempest took like 75% of use time. Pricey but I really like the additional umph it packs and with better flavor on top.

Puffco Proxy
Don’t do it often but now and then I like to take out the pipe and enjoy the ritual. Requires lower maintenance than I expected and tastes awesome on the lowest temp (though I don’t have that much experience with concentrates).

OG Vapman
I’ve been a longtime fan of the Vapman for hash but picked up a Swiss-style ebony Classic for flower. Wow. The denser wood makes a noticeable difference— very smooth ramp up to potent, flavorful hits.

Vapman Click
Helped out with beta testing for the Click but it’s quickly worked its way into my main rotation. The OG wants your undivided attention but the Click works with whatever’s going on. Easy ritual, bigger loads, even extraction— they really nailed it.

Toad
Recently a bit neglected but never unloved. Great holiday travel vape— festivity that fits perfectly in hand and pocket. Dan’s craftsmanship sets the mood like no other. With a slow draw on a fresh battery, it’ll kick your ass a bit for fun, too.

Vaponic
Current weekend warhorse. I can objectively tell the flavor is superior but subjectively don’t actually care. It’s just so damn fun to use. Evenly extracting whole (small) nugs in a couple of heat-ups feels like clearing the level of your favorite game.

What qualities does the Tespest have that particularly resonate with you?

Reading your posts, it seems like we have similar taste. I've never tried a Tempest. Tell me.

Same for other Tempest aficionados.

It's the only portable butane in that DV profile that provides top notch taste imo. The bowl material is very thin, and is kept away as much as possible from the heated balls. This ensures as close to pure convection as you can get in this style of vape.

So once you have it dialed in (can be fiddly for some at first, as lots of settings) it sort of acts like a one and done TM2.

It's very versatile also. From configuration, multiple airflow settings, even toke style as the balls hold enough heat to do more casual multiple pulls.

I think it shines with the wand IH though. Torch works well, though. Just be warned if you decide to get one, it can be a bit complex and daunting at first, and not everyone gets the most out of it straight away.

About 60/40 split between TM2 and Tempest (w/ wand).

Percentages might be a little different but the same here: it's been all about the TM2 and the Tempest/wand combo!
For me personally these two have proven to be very effective WVD's (Weapons of Vas Destruction)!

Well... kinda: i wasn't tempted to buy other vapes but did decide to get back up TM2's :brow:

The tempest is pocket friendly and pairs well with the wand. It’s easier on the throat, leans way more convection, and the chamber at half setting fits about .075g vs .05g when compared with a dynavap. It’s a quick session that delivers and is repeatable.

Sounds like the Tempest would be right up my alley. While I have a DV Hyperdyn that I enjoy for its portability and Wand compatibility, the flavor profile (if I'm not being extremely careful) can get overly toasty (burn popcorn), which I don't like. Fortunately I'm generally "careful" and get results that please me. But I think a more convection oriented VapCap might suit me better.

I have no problem with a device that needs to be "mastered." Usually. LOL

Thanks for the write up. Pretty much what I'd hoped (and figured) knowing our preferences seem very highly similar.

Thank you.

For what it is worth, I was first exposed to Dark Star when I was a kid in 1969 when Live/Dead was released. I wore the grooves off that one. Today I have a significant archive of live shows that I enjoy immensely.

Oh, and I once got Jerry (and Keith, Donna, and Maria Muldaur) pretty high on some top-teir Maui Wowie backstage at the Keystone Berkeley. Fall 1979. A crazy scene let me tell you.

The Tempest sounds good.

It’s the vape that has felt closest like passing and puffing on a joint to me. Flavor is incredible. And paired with a wand/reload it has been one of the easiest and most satisfying vapes I’ve ever used. So versatile too, incredible on its own with the cooling and customization of the stem, and rips hard through water or dry pieces as well.

Adding, as I missed this earlier, but thanks to you as well for the input. All the comments seem to point in the same direction.

Honeymoon phase was over at the beginning of the year with the Tempest and we’ve stayed together through it. I figured it would be more like a Dyna on steroids and different than the Fusion (which was my 2023 most reached). ZX was a close second. Various TRWW in there too but something keeps me going for the little stick version.

Once again, I have some newer vapes on hand and a few not yet received for contention next year. :tinfoil:

Electropath and Flower Kettle have taken over most reached for ball vape/heavy hitter.

And in the Induction dept, it is the Tornado, Forge and Inductor, with a special shout out to the Zooter.

For a session vape, Angus Enhanced and it isn't even close.

And soooo lovely, and the newest in the scene this year for me is the Terpcicle with the wireless handle and the TRWW coil set up. Terpcicle is also one of the few vapes I will still pull out a torch for.

Honorable mention to both the TA3, Vestratto Thermocore and Tempest. I probably use these about equally for that killer blunt puffing experience.

Once again, thank you for your thoughts on the Tempest. I'm gathering that these are not currently available (but perhaps by summer)?

After thinking about it, I wish to share a few more thoughts with you about the Lotus.

The experience is quite unlike smoking a joint. But the flavor? So sweet!!!

This is the only vape in my collection that seems incapable of producing anything but sweet sweet vapor. It is always sweet. Every. single. time.

The Lotus has never gone "burnt popcorn."

This quality might not be relished by users who prefer higher temp style roastiness (and associated medicinal effects), but for fans of terpene-rich vapor that always tastes delicious, the Lotus is a champion.

To my mind this is connoisseur's device, and one that is a bit of a sleeper (yet one with a fan base).

There were a few years where they were hard come by, after the original company closed. It's so great the Michael and David picked it up again so everyone can try one. I love my OG and recently picked up a couple of Italian ones!

Glad you took the plunge!

There are lots of new ones, but I’m still most in love with my Dynavap helix w/wand and Dani Fusion 1 with a blazer big buddy. It’s all about the quality of the high.

Absolutely in awe of some of your collections. Wish we could all just meet up, hang out and try all the lovely new tech.

ZX for sure. Love appliance style devices I can leave on and ready. ZX is my favorite home vape, especially after going wireless

If we are doing honorable mentions, I have to give that to my workhorse of a Bowle. Still my #1 when I leave the house, but that’s not terribly often lol. I was an early adopter (I think I got a lifetime warranty???) and it is still good for 2 full bowls per charge. I know that doesn’t sound great but it’s been recharged hundreds of times. Aside from that it performs as good as it did on day one

I'm glad as well.

I added this one after I declared my "vape acquisition" shopping-spree complete (at least for this year); however, the highly positive reviews from forum members such as yourself convinced me to add one. And this despite some questions in my mind about whether the Lotus and the Vapman would be competing for the same niche, which in some measure they are--but that's a very good space, So I'm happy.

As mentioned previously, for my taste preferences--which run towards highly flavorful (lower-temp style/convection) vape--the Lotus delivers every time. I think of it as a "tasting" device, if that makes sense.

I will say that (after using the Lotus on their branded J-Hook (which is a wonderful pairing), last night I put the Lotus on a new rig I've been assembling in anticipation of getting my Phase 3 ZX that's based on a FC-199 and (while it was certainly "smooth") far too much flavor was stripped away by going through water for my taste.

Makes me wonder about my ZX plan as well. Wanted a glass rig that would minimize burn-risks by having a heavy glass rig with a whip hose (for distance). But the "plan" may need to evolve. I'm into flavor maximization and the bong diminished the flavors.

Live and learn.

Thank you for your part in running a great forum. This is truly a great space and an important one for shaping future cannabis culture in positive ways. Mods work hard. have to deal with BS, and rarely get kudos. I'm appreciative. Thank you!

I am the beetle in a box that only you can see
TRWW Quartz Cap for me; nothing else comes close.
QC is the business, I agree, and possibly my favourite vape (other close run contenders include the EMK and lamart Piro) but sadly it (and all of the other contenders) are currently far too efficient for my sanity. Something weird happened in late summer when my tolerance just went through the floor: regularly greening out on 0.1g if the extraction was too fast, on really mid level weed. I've recently surrendered to this affliction and started half and halfing with CBD flower which makes a .1g basket less likely to be an unwelcome gateway into a parallel universe.
I received a QC mini today, and I've high hopes for it, but am approaching it gingerly, with a degree of trepidation. Wish me luck.

Perhaps not the worst problem to have. LOL
