Time for the annual MRF awards.

My fellow VASers what were the top vape(s) in your hand the most in 2024? Maybe you tried several but there was always that one you kept coming back to. I'd love to hear from all users, the members that have a couple of vapes but also am most intrigued by those of you that have many choices. What was your Most Reached For? Why?

1). Tempest. This is my personal vape of the year. I've been easy sailing since day 1, and it's by far the best flavor and cooling I've ever gotten out of this form factor. My tornado came in a few weeks ago, was worried It would overthrow the tempest, but I'm not nearly as keen on it (Flavor has only been okay and I get heat lock way too much, it does smack tho)

2). Tafee Bowl 2, I don't care about aesthetics, just performance and flavor. And TB2 delivers on both fronts, with a crazy good battery life to boot.

3). CC Zirconia Zeal. I have seen the way of zirconia ball vapes, and I like it. Unfortunately, my lid has a crack in it, so I will have to start being on the look out for something from phase 3.

Honorable mentions to my venty, omega, and TM2. If there's 1 vape I want to get next year, I hope it's the Hornet IO that T&J had on their live stream. I've always wanted a crazy versatile ball vape that doesn't get locked into proprietary bowls

1. Vapman easily 80%. Loved for microdosing and especially for sift hash and kief

2. Toad for convection about 10%. I’d use it more if I wasnt fighting a finicky “high” heater.

3. Air vape Legacy Pro with capsules in my backpack for on the go. Impressed every time I touch it

Old & In the Way
Tafee Series 2 Bowle
My collecion is modest, maybe 7 or 8 devices (doubles of most of them). I have all portables, no logs, no ball vapes or such.

So I'm grabbing the Bowle most of the time, over, Roffu (a sometimes morning vape), Mighty og, Minivap, Splinter V2, Hopper io, V3Pro, Starry4, V3Nano and a new 2ZM.
The Splinter V2 and the 2ZM will yield marginally better flavor than Bowle; I like that Bowle is easy, very consistent, low maintenance.

Earlier in the year it was the Venty. Still love it for a chill portable sesh.

Over the summer it was the Phase3 ZX. Incredible convection efficiency machine.

Currently, it's the Vestratto Tornado. Loving the hits and effects this thing gives me.

I've been feeling pretty set lately with these three dry herb devices!

1/2 bowl Ti tips win the reach test, my limited lung capacity has zero need of a heavy-hitter or desktop and I love to tinker and mix/match colors, admiring them enhances the expirience. AVLP for stealthier travel, Neo for bigger hits at home. I usually load several at once and sip throughout the day.

I love my ZX. I have a Tornado on the way, so your comment bodes well.

No thoughts, head empty
First 9 months:
- Dynavap (2018 omni tip in particular): was very useful in preparing for the tempest, but have been shelved since.

- Firewood 9: was my favourite all rounder, then I dropped it and broke the wood. Will be back in rotation once I get around to fixing it

Last 3:
- Tempest: my go to device for couch/campfire usage. Not very efficient but hits nice and hard in 1 heat cycle. Took a few weeks of trial and error before I found out how to set the wand adapter and avoid combustion, but since then it’s been extremely consistent and reliable.

- Toad: my go to outdoor device. The opposite of the tempest where it’s somewhat slow but super efficient.

- Firewood 7: mostly just my backup for my Firewood 9. Great device, but the weak vibration motor and stale taste from previous combustions leaves it playing second fiddle to the 9.

Honourable mention:
- Underdog SC3+: still my only and favourite desktop. Tastes and performs great, but the 15 minute initial heat soak and mains power requirements make it more of a special occasion device

Desktop
Taroma lite plus and the Tiodw copy (one upstairs and one downstairs) for flower
And the Taroma360 and the Tiodw copy for resin
The 360 is more powerful but I prefer the slower extraction, flavour and ease of use of the lite plus with the injector bowl.

Portable
Splinter Z and Dynavap

Tempest gets honorable mention as the thing is incredible, but since discovery of sensitivity to titanium I had to sell it sadly.

Now for portable it’s mostly Firewood 7 with Stunner mixed in.

At home it’s Flower kettle and Electropath. Anvil if I don’t wanna be tethered to a wall.

Been a great year vaping so far and can’t wait to see what next year brings!

Edit: recently got a Prrl Neo and Terp Surfer and although it may not be the ultimate winner in most grabbed, what an awesome device!!

Anvil wins by far. Tornado brewing in the background.
Same here, but the Tornado keeps catching up. This may shift when I have a stem for it. These two make about 50%, the other half is taken by the S3.

I ended up only occasionally using my Tempest, Venty and TM2. They’re all great devices, but the Canadian alliance wins the reach test nearly every single time 🇨🇦

Phase3 ZX, Vapman, Woodscents/Dynavap. I used the Lotus an awful lot too; it's become a real go-to outdoors and it's made a serious bite into my brick usage. I've gotten several new vapes, upgraded some old ones, and still have some like the CouchLog that belong in the top three as well.

I am the beetle in a box that only you can see
Slow year for vape acquisition. A Dreamwood Goblin. A Tempest. A Vapman 2.0.

My most reached for is probably either of the Vapmans, followed by a Dynavap Ti tip with a TRWW QC on a WPA, and the Fusion. I'm not saying these are the best or even the most enjoyable vapes I own, but they're certainly the ones I've used the most.

Wow, this is hard!

Dry herb on the go.

Tinymight 2
Taffe bowle 2
Minivap

Honorable mention

Solo 3
Mighty/Venty
Lobo

Dry herb at home

Custom Flower Kettle with the Electro Path
Volcano Hybrid

Dabs on the go and at home

Puffco Peak Pro 3D atty V2
Focus V Aeris Max atty
Custom Flower Kettle

Honorable mention

Cricket Evolv

I know it’s supposed to be one. When you have Vas, there’s no such thing as 1.

2024 is the year this 50 year cannabis consumer finally fucked combustion.

I have invested in some choice gear, and have done extraordinary well at matching gear to my preferences thanks in large measure to the advice and council of members here, so I have not wasted a dime. And I'm grateful to you all for the expertise and good cheer.

Vapes I'm using a lot (in no particular order):

Tinymight 2 Purple Heart: A bit of a splurge, but oh my! Freaking great vape.

Vapman 2.0 + station: Absolutely delicious results that meet the needs of this "flavor chaser."

Lotus: See above.

Dynavap Hyperdyn + Ispire Wand: Gets a ton of use, especially on the go.

Pax 3 Mini: Not a "forum favorite" for reasons I understand. Not even my "favorite," when compared with the above. However, there are times when having a very discreet unit is key and for that reason this one fills a niche for me.

I'm very much looking forward to the delivery of a Phase 3 ZX, but that will likely arrive early next year. I'm hoping the ZX will be the crown of the collection.

Like to see this from someone I see use so many vapes; Vapman, Lotus, and Couchlog are some I’ve wanted to add to the collection. Hopefully into the next year if not now!

I just used my Lotus with the included J-Hook. Such sweet sweet vapor!

May not be the most hard-hitting "monster," but for pure flavor in a relaxed and civilized experience, the Lotus is a winner.

Vapman is also top-notch.

I'd love to try a Couchlog sometime. Only hear great things.

Best wishes in your VAS journey!

Been the year of the ZX and Tempest for me, reach test wise. Coiled QC 18mm wins my weekend wake and bake reach test though.

What qualities does the Tespest have that particularly resonate with you?

Reading your posts, it seems like we have similar taste. I've never tried a Tempest. Tell me.

Same for other Tempest aficionados.

It’s the vape that has felt closest like passing and puffing on a joint to me. Flavor is incredible. And paired with a wand/reload it has been one of the easiest and most satisfying vapes I’ve ever used. So versatile too, incredible on its own with the cooling and customization of the stem, and rips hard through water or dry pieces as well.

TRWW Quartz Cap for me; nothing else comes close. I adore my #11 with HMK millie rig and use the combination many times daily. (Yeah… I go through kind of a lot of butane.) The QC Mini and the Megacicle are great, too, but this one is just right.

When going out, it's been the Roffu, but I would like something better (faster extracting, harder hitting, better tasting). Hoping to achieve battery-powered QC-level hits, I recently got a Tornado but have yet to buy an induction heater. Still, that kit will probably be a bit too bulky and involved to replace the Roffu in a lot of cases.

Aside from those I also have an Angus Enhanced, Air Max, Underdog Alpha, Convector OG & Ti, Lotus, Nova, Firewood 7, 6 & 5, Vapman,.. and more.
