I use only Rosin myself, but have you tried putting the herb flat into a bag, removing all the air and seal it, and letting it float in the water? Provided the bag isn't too thick, it should do a great job. Maybe even better than it decarbs Rosin.

If you are buying Cannabis from the black market that isn't tested for mold, it's certainly possible that you left a trace of mold from your last use, and it grew over time. Although looking at Powdery Mildew images, I'm not convinced it is mold. Below is one image.

I live nearby a saltwater lake personally, and my humidity is really high. It drops below 50% in the summer only. It happens to my Nitrile gloves if I don't dry them while taking them off.

I use 3x5 Rosin Evolution 160 Micron bags to produce what I posted above. On a 20T All-in-One unit from Lowtemp-plates.com, which frankly has been great, I can get up to 400PSI without blowing out. Past 400PSI, the real problem is the parchment paper shifting and tearing.
