So aside from the cleaning tools, what's new with the Herc there? I'm still using a SR71 with no real complaints.

I started out doing it the same way but somehow I never get great results trying to clean them. I've left coils soaking for weeks, even going so far as to change out the iso every day, boiling, torching, everything I could think of. They always had some tiny bit of crud imbedded inside that I...

I've kind of resigned myself to just completely replacing the coils in my Herc when it comes time to clean it. I've tried warm iso soaks and torching but they never come back quite how they started. As such, I just take one of those metal dental picks with the pointy hook on the end, like what...

That's been my experience. You can load quite a bit and sometimes it's convenient to do so but there's always a trade off either in waste or flavor degradation.

Any word on the price? Also, what's it going to be called?

I was very discouraged by all the disclaimers about complexity at first too. I probably would have been a customer years ago otherwise. Once I finally pulled the trigger, I pretty quickly realized how overblown all that stuff was. Yes, you will need a modicum of common sense and you'll want to...

It's impossible for me to compare directly because I don't have a v3 top anymore but I used to vape at 3.7 exclusively with my old top . The v4 top seems to take a lot longer to get up to temperature at 3.7 so I'd end up with weak vapor and lots of oil falling into the reclaim chamber. 7.4 works...

Same here. I had the touch button auto-fire on me the first day I got it and I've been paranoid about it ever since. I never use the hammer feature at all so its of little benefit to me. It also seems less effective at 3.7v than my v3 top was. I don't hate it but it got me started looking for...

PSA: don't forget to check your pockets before you do laundry. Thankfully it was just my Mini and not my Persei but damn... On the plus side, I guess it's time to do some shopping.

I meant to comment on this yesterday in regards to oil leaking into the reclaim chamber. I used to have problems with that too but it has all but stopped since I started using the AAF washer fully closed. Technique and cool down hits are probably more important but I find the AAF to be a handy...

This may be a stupid question but I've always wondered why the air intake just dumps directly downward. Seems like it would be much less of an issue if they were to start from the bottom and run upward so the actual opening is just above the fill level, like a snorkel or a siphon. That way...

One came with the Persei kit I bought so I just kept it around as a backup. It helped me out for a few days one time when I was waiting for a replacement part for my Herc. I end up with a little reclaim from time to time and I find the 7.4v Kiss does a pretty good job of blasting that into...

It's true. You should always apply common sense. Rigid plastics generally lack the plasticizers that would be solvent in alcohol and diffusion would take a long time. Keep away from stuff like vinyl or PVC.

Most containers for ISO are made from plastic. I can't imagine that would be the case if there was any real interaction between them.

I thought it was a tiny amount at the time. Whatever it is, it's apparently way too much. Does that make the carts more appealing or the experience less disappointing? Not really.

Same thing happened to me. My Herc was temporarily out of commission so I ordered a couple Kiss carts to hold me over until I could repair it. Within the first 24 hours one of them broke just as you describe with the cup sticking to the top cone and pulling out of the base. I kind of just wrote...

Nitecore D2 was recommended to me here and that's what I got. Definitely worth the $20.

One of the first accessories I picked up after I got a Persei was a new charger. This was after I killed a battery using the stock charger-- I don't trust that thing anymore. Look into the Nitecore D2 or something similar.

True. But I feel like, in general, if I'm spending money on new gear anyway, then I want it to be the best quality I can realistically get. I'd mainly avoided the UP tester because it's just a single-purpose device when I can get a meter and have it available to use on other stuff in addition...
