strange I feel like I get more even roasts with the wood chamber. Since the chamber is more narrow with the wood, and since the edges are always what gets less cooked, having wood instead of herb on the edge makes for a more even cook.

Play around with different bricks and cords I remember reviving my ESV in a similar situation by doing that. Also like shit snacks says it might just be dead dead, batteries don't live for ever yet. Miss my ESV.
