I wouildn't say my pax2 gets HOT it gets warm after using it on high for a bit, but I've never thought it was too hot. I live in cooler climate so maybe that is part of my experience, feels good to me when it warms up, bonus when it's cold out.

I heard mine if I give it a quick up and down shake 3 or 4 times then put the oven end close to your ear it's hard to hear it otherwise (for mine anyway)

What temp did you have it set at? I have found that if I fully pack a load, and start on petal 2, I get a few good solid vapor hits (good flavor) then it seems to either need to be stirred to expose more of the densly packed load to the heat at that low of a temp or I can just bump it up to 3 or...

sounds to me like your residue was holding the screen in the oven, and just turning on the pax, letting the oven heat first, then turning it off, and try to remove the screen while the oven is warm. Oils are like glue when cold, and get softer when hot. Sorry you had a bad time trying to clean...

yeah both my Pax1 and Pax2 made odor as it got to temp, I started learning to identify when the oven was about to go to a green light based on the burst of terpines in the air... I usually keep it close by, so I smell the oven come to temp. I don't mind personally, if I need to be stealthier...
