@Hippie , thank you so much for this link. I haven't finished reading all of the thread but that is exactly what I had in mind. Not original, or even necessary, but the thing is I already have the Arduino so it would be a waste to not try this out, right? Now IR sensor or thermistor? I think...
Yeah, good point, it would be quite noisy. Then again we're only looking to detect at a very coarse level. I guess the only way to know will be to take some measurements. I've been playing around with an Arduino recently. Maybe time for a new sensor value recording project...
I did see a description of an IH with this feature a few months ago but don't have a link. It might have been a proposal rather than a completed design. I think adding a thermistor makes more sense. The click is just a temp sensor, why put a sensor on another sensor when you can read temp...
Has anyone tried building an autosensing start that applies heating power when the inductance of the coil changes due to the insertion of the vapcap? Not sure if it would be practical to do this with the main coil or if it would need a separate sensing coil. Anyone tried an optical switch...
I imagine this has been beaten to death but I think it is regrettable that we haven't taken this opportunity to improve the site name. It's unfortunate that the most mature and knowledgeable cannabis vaping site has the most childish name. I've tried recommending this site to non-vapers but...
Wow, and I thought the MV1 was over-engineered. This thing is trying to solve all problems for all people. Hard to believe they can do a good job of that. I'm eager to hear a review.
I have the popular Nitecore D2 but wish I had gotten a different charger. It was cheap and works great but only charges at 0.5A, that's a really slow charge rate for current gen cells that can support 2A charging with no stress. Next time I'll get one with the capacity test function so I can...
Reminds me of my youth. Note to self: when guerrilla growing in the bush do not plant right next to the deer trail. Some of those plants actually produced, 12 tiny tiny colas only a foot from the ground :)
Nowadays? I figure this is how all markets have worked since prehistoric dudes got their buddies to claim their chunks of hyena meat were antelope :)
Sure, why not? Products you find in Target and Walmart are no different. Lots of cheaply made stuff with different stickers.
You won't know...
I'm always confused when people talk about GhostVapes like they were some kind of scam. They had the best customer service and replacement policy of any company out there as far as I can tell. My wife's died after two years and they replaced it no questions asked. Luckily that was a few weeks...
I may have judged the cells supplied by Ghost too harshly. My first crucible on the Samsung R25's (all I have on hand) seemed better but the cells don't last any longer than the originals from Ghost, about 3 crucibles. No difference in vapor on level 2 and the typical fast drop off to not...
Somebody didn't think about that name for long enough. Yeah, I know it looks a little like a canteen but "canna" - "teen", jesus christ, why not just name it "drug device for children"....
So far the refurbished battery is doing great. You know the difference in performance you get with a fully charged battery over one that's about to go from 2 down to 1 red light? I'm getting that level of improvement with the new cells fully charged over the original cells fully charged. It...
That's interesting, I've opened three battery housings and none of them have that tensioning strip. I've been working with some old dead early gen batteries that the Vape Critic sent me.
P.S. Bud, if you are still lurking around out there, thanks again for those batteries (and you will always...
I think GhostVapes chose low quality cells or their supplier screwed them over. The battery that came with my unit wasn't great from day one and now can only vape 2-3 crucibles before it needs recharge. That's after less than 100 recharge cycles.
I just popped a couple of Samsung 25R's into a...
Yeah, I had my MV1 hooked up to a meter and bench power supply while investigating options for powering it. It pulled about 5.5 A (rounded up above) when pulling max power heating up from cold. That's about 45 W for the heater, very similar to other fast on-demand vapes.
I was hoping to find...
I've been looking for batteries off and on for the last 6 months and they are few and far between. Also a ridiculous price for two used 18650's worth $10 new and another $1 worth of plastic and circuitry. On the previous page of this thread @Northbear posted instructions on how to pop the end...
Vapor leakage isn't really a big concern, no need to worry. The CFX is a conduction\hybrid device which means it takes a while to heat up and cool down. It's not ideal to leave for hours and then reheat. You can try a second session but it's more effective to vape the whole thing at once...
Oak is known for it's slightly "pickley" or "vinegary" smell when it's freshly worked. That may be experienced as a "fishy" smell by some maybe? If that's what you are smelling it will go away naturally as the wood ages.
