I've been able to get mine to consistently heat up(pretty fast too) by adding a small bit of wire stuffed into the space behind the gold screw. now the bottom pin is making good contact and the top is normal. Don't know if this is recommended, but it's working for me so far it's been one day...
maybe for some people it will but mine had the problem come up again even after adjusting the screw. the adjustment helped for a few sessions. then it stopped again, if I kinda wiggled my thumb it would suddenly fire. This led me to believe that it's bad connections with the pins.
I love my 8 when its working. It's a beast when paired with the herc. Just a pain that I would have to tweak it every couple of sessions to get it to start firing again. So far it's been good. I'm sure the modified pins will fix the problems most of us are having.
Also one more thing that sucks...I don't know why but the heat from the top pin or maybe bottom pin transfered over to the adjustment screw which then kind of melted the white plastic housing :( I felt my thumb sinking in as I struggled to get my herc to warm up (never got hot enough). I was...
Thanks again for taking care of the customers. I was able to to get mine to fire almost every time by stuffing a little bit of thin guage wire into the space behind the button adjustment screw. So I'm thinking the bottom pin is always making contact and the top pin is the only one that needs to...
Yeah there's been a handful of 8 owners having the same problems. Its gonna be something with the button mechanism. But as far as not getting clouds, how long are you holding the button for? Mine takes a while to heat up from cold but after holding the button down and taking puffs it produces...
I was having the same issue. Just squish it more where its touching two sides of the chamber. It should be somewhat of a tight fit. I haven't had it rise up since then.. I can't even get my 8 to fire up the sr74 . It was working good then it just stopped firing. I tested with a multimeter...
Count me in on one of those 71 bottom adapters. I just barely got my 8 and haven't been able to use my 74 adapter. Thanks a lot for the fast response to our issues:tup:
ah alright thanks, just confirming. Haven't been doing that. only tried it once while testing...also, when you say "we are working on making 2 different center pins", do you mean the top pin with the two nuts? If so what revisions would you guys do to improve them?
I've been messing with the screw on mine and its been working good so far. I do have to press a bit firmer but it seems to fire every time. How long are you holding the button?
hmm so maybe its just me. I did try holding longer and it produced good vapor..another thing I noticed is the coil floats on top of the oil once it melts
