    The Toasty Top

Thanks Orestes. I'm glad you were able to easily open the Toasty Top for cleaning. It makes heating element replacement just that easy too. I tried to make everything as simple as possible. The Toasty Tower has the identical internals and can be opened for cleaning the same way.

    The Toasty Top

Here is my latest Toasty Tower. I was shooting for a temp in the 380's. It is a bit hotter inside than most Toasty Tops. It is much cooler to the touch on the outside than a Toasty Top. The price is the same as a Toasty Top. I can make some units if anyone is interested.

    The Toasty Top

al bundy - Thanks. I'm playing with ring thickness and rounding the edges. gvape - Glad you love the Toasty Top. I must have misunderstood you. Hope you find your glass tube. I like to feel the glass get hot so you know you are getting adequate hot air flow. Vapemania - Thanks for the great...

    The Toasty Top

Thanks for the support mom. I'm glad you are enjoying your Toasty Top. Thanks Ed. I believe you are correct that dense species of wood should be able to get hot enough using the ring technique. I need to do some more experimenting. gvape - I'm sorry you don't feel the TT is for you. It does...

    The Toasty Top

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions VW. I am trying to make it as simple as possible. The two units in the photos are the two extremes. It was just an experiment to see what would happen. I don't care for the taste when the temperature is 400F or higher. It still works, but you need to...

    The Toasty Top

I have been studying the properties of wood for the Toasty Tops and have discovered some interesting things. I went back to the basics of heat transfer and heat energy (HE) to understand what is happening. The HE is transferred in three ways; Conduction, Convection, and Radiation. Conduction...

    The Toasty Top

Operating the heater at too high of a temperature for too long of time can shorten the life. The voltage should be adjusted only enough to give the desired temperature changes. There is no need to go above 400F. A variable voltage power supply with a voltage meter (0-15 max) will allow you to...

    cheap voltage tester

I have been looking for a cheap way to test the voltage of a power supply for log style vapes. I want to know what voltage I am applying so I don't give it too much. A tester for a LiPo battery pack is $3. It is intended to test multiple battery cells via a test cord. It also works to test a...

    The Toasty Top

I have been curious to the actual internal temperature of the Toasty Top since it has been reported to be higher than the cylinder style vaporizers, so I bought a very accurate temperature probe. I took temperature readings on my Toasty Top with the probe between the heater and the heat sink in...

    The Toasty Top

I haven't tried stabilized wood for the mouthpieces. It should work well. There are so many possibilities with pen blanks. I have been using wood that was sealed and dried slowly for several years. Checking occurs when the wood initially dries too quickly or non-uniformly. The stress created...

The Bud Toaster - (currently: Model 14, version 3)

Hippie - You might try slotting the wood so it slides together like a puzzle. Everything is solid when it is all slid together. Just a thought. Good luck with the box.

    The Toasty Top

biojuggernaut - The little bag contains beads of pure beeswax. They melt very easily on the hotter parts of the top. Don't drop any onto the heat sink. Just smash one onto the hot wood on the sides of the top and spread the liquid wax as it melts. You can use them when you feel the wood is...

    The Toasty Top

Pleased to hear you like the TT biojuggernaut. Thanks again. It does give some great hits. Curious to how the poly tube with silicone tube fits into the 14mm. I have never tried the buzz butter, but it should work fine. I like how the beeswax bee'ds melt into the wood with your fingertips. It is...

    The Toasty Top

Thanks for the feedback gvape. Great way for me to make improvements. I was reading another thread about containers for cleaning vapor tubes with alcohol. The protective poly tubes I use for my glass tubes work great for cleaning, but are too small for my poly tubes. I found they make a larger...

Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

Can you do some 5 tube roll-up pouches too? Some people may have more than 3 of your tubes. Sorry Ed. Must have missed that. I was so excited to see the hemp pouch, my mind immediately went to rolled pouch. Maybe a hand carved wood button closure for the pouch.

Thanks psyshaman. There are a lot of possibilities if I can find some glass artists that want to give it a try. Thanks for the suggestions Lycanthrope. I'm always looking to make improvements or enhancements. I have heard that my roasting tube tips will not fit in the other log style...
