According to their web site, they are an American company, but I'm pretty sure the units are manufactured in China. I've also read elsewhere on this thread that they will not honor any warranty on units coming directly from China; only on units purchased from them or one of their authorised...
Just clicking power five times mid-countdown is not correct. You have to stop the heater first by holding the power button for about four seconds, then you use the five clicks of the power button to turn it off immediately, or just leave it and it will auto shutoff in about a minute.
Remember...
"Shift between °C and °F: If you raise the temperature to 220 °C and continue to press the up button, the temperature reading will turn to the lowest Fahrenheit (158°F). Equally, if the temperature decreases below 70°C, the temperature reading will turn to 428°F automatically."
Yeah, if you want to completely turn it off in the middle of a session, first hold power to turn off heat, then click five times quickly to turn off. But there's hardly ever a reason to turn it off completely, turning the heat off is where you'll see any battery savings. The screen being on for...
Do not buy Haze batteries for anything other than a Haze. They have a protection circuit packaged on one end of the battery that makes them too long for other devices and won't fit.
You do not need the new firmware to control the beeper volume. Page 14 of the manual:
"Buzzer adjustment: In power-off state, long press the fire button and up button to enter buzzer adjustment interface. Press two regulatory buttons to adjust buzzer volume from 1 to 5. You may press the fire...
I think the majority of resellers use marketing info that comes from the manufacturers or the manufacturers' websites and the better resellers adjust accordingly when/if errors arise. Looks like TVI already fixed that particular mistake.
I would also prefer vibration to the current beeping. The beep can be intrusive to others nearby, vibration is much more discreet, IMO. Obviously, this can't be added via firmware, but is a great idea for a hardware revision.
@Vivant, the ability to change the timer up to five minutes is essential in my opinion. Upgrading went perfectly and was so fast that I thought it hadn't worked -- it took less than one second! Thanks for the improvement!
Outside the scope of firmware, I would also love to see a capsule system for the Alternate. I use the S&B capsules with the Mighty and Crafty all the time, but unfortunately, they are a little too big to use with the Alternate... This would be #1 on my list!
Just did the update on mine. Worked perfectly. Though their site says it may take 3-5 minutes, on my iMac, it took less than one second! I wasn't sure that it was done, but it was and it works fine.
Got mine from TVI: https://thevapor.institute/product/cfv-aluminum-chamber/
This thing is awesome! The CFV now has a variable temp range for me. Before, I was always stuck at 446 or I'd get almost no vapor, but now, I can vape at around 350 and get huge clouds. I don't mind that it adds a...
