A case of The tool dictating the design :(
Awhile ago found these neat alum tubes that are perfect for an M xl (w/ mouthpiece ) or a Ti omni xl. They have a silicone gasket..I tested them for waterproof...100% positive havent for smell yet, but should be sim.
The issue is tube has a...
MISTER BIGMOUTH! A bit of a Sunday teaser...1st prototype; carved too deep on the face and had to rebuild.
Turned out nice...test run today tovsee how it performs Once I have more experience carving in such small stem diameter (1/2"), I will be putting some out for your usage
An addition to my IST Inside Tool catagory...a condenser popper-outer
Note the pocket in the end of the aluminum rod. It centers around the condenser end, preventing the tool from touching the inside walls of the stem, AND
prevents a jammed interior o ring from coming off the condenser and...
hey welcome to the forum
the wax/oil paste is useful as it keeps unfinished wood stems from drying out over time
If your wood stem is from DV, they use an ingenious process to really get their waxoil into the wood...you should be good for awhile. If the outside starts to look dull and...

ps RWW thanks for the referral on the IST
no problemo bro Im a bit embarassed by the whole mixup....that condenser sticking out the front always seemed wrong, but I didnt connect the dots. All squared away now.
My condenser material is a bit larger od than the reg DV ...A bit closer to 5mm. It does close off a Ti tip
what is the...
thanks so much bro your info go me onto the right path...at least reg the Ti tip
the clean ti tip I have for fittage testing, is non compliant in its smaller bore, almost the same as The SS tip. Using that defective tip, furthered me along the wrong path.
I grabbed a "in use" ti tip and...
woww that answer really surprised me. I obviously dont know the omni concept
so, how much does the condnser stick out past the end of the stem, when the condenser is fully extended ( as it will go further into the Ti tip)
thanks
hey all
would like to know the travel distance of an omni condenser....or condenser length at both its most open and most closed position. - few pages back, I showed my take on a PMO poormans omni. I just made the condenser long enough so it would go from fully closed tip, and the usual...
