Sounds like the same problem as mine. After I had the battery replaced (and before) it did the same thing... kind of. It would heat up and then just switch off prematurely.
I'm thinking it's an electrical fault with the pcb inside - and not the battery.
I couldn't edit my previous post - but...
I read through the whole discussion so far... and no love for just vac-sealing your bud?
I looked into these Boveda packs and vac sealed jars with temps when (after many years of trying and failing) I started growing nice quality bud - and I knew I was going to have a lot of it. It's my year's...
192C is 377F - I can see it probably cracking at that temp - and would go for the Crafty 100% (only catch? the battery and high cost).
If you vape much lower (like me) I'd say stick with the Vivant. You can get 3 of them and still have change for the price of a Crafty - and to me they're...
I'm about 2-3 months in now, I think? (hey... good weed :))
I used the Crafty every day for just over 2 years before it broke on me. I know what the Crafty is like - and I honestly don't see much difference between a Vivant Alternate and the Crafty. They're about the same in terms of experience...
I've just switched from a (broken) Crafty to a Tera and I'm enjoying it - about the same as a Mighty for experience.
Definitely switch the batteries for 3000s and get two sets - it guzzles batteries like a beast (it's biggest weakness by far) but that aside, it's fine. Just make sure you've got...
That is the current conundrum. I wasn't sure if it's a new one or simply a repair job on the old used unit - but if it's a new one then I am a little (and I do mean a little) tempted...
I haven't sent it off yet or paid for anything - just the quote for the 'repair'.
The more I think about it...
Just want to correct myself in this thread -
Storz & Bickel do service/repair Crafty's out of warranty. Just need to register the device.
Repair bill?
Not cheap - $100+
Lesson learnt here?
Only buy vapes where you can change the battery yourself with some soldering skills - or, as I'm...
I think 3-5 years is pretty generous. My Crafty gave me less than 2 years of life and a friend's Mighty also lasted around the same time before he noticed he had to keep it on charge most of the time.
Well, my Crafty woes probably stop here... I'm done with it.
Had the battery replaced and it's doing exactly the same thing as before - the bottom of the vape gets very hot... and it does work if I keep hammering the power button and it decides to stay on - but it now also drains the battery in...
Many thanks for the replies, as I said in the other thread... The only time I bought some 'vape' batteries on Amazon I ended up with 4 button tops I have no use for - and really didn't want to repeat the same mistake. There are so many different types of batteries... Now I just cross my fingers...
Sorry to kind of post this again, but I was pointed here from the the other thread.
Just want to double (no, triple!) check that these batteries are okay for the Crafty (not the + ... although the box has a sticker saying "20% more battery" (or something to that effect) There is no + symbol on...
I've gone through a few pages, watched some videos... but I just can't figure out what kind of replacement battery I need to order to fix my Crafty (not the +, the original one)
I can see that according to this guide it's a 2800mAh...
Definitely a switchable battery - it was a broken Crafty that lead me here to these forums. I can't believe that they cost so much but in order to change the battery you have to send it back to them "for a small fee". For the amount they cost, it would be trivial to simply fit a proper battery...
