Hey guys, I received my shipment of Caldron enclosures today. They look perfect and were packed very well, for a change. So on schedule for release in May or maybe a little before. Here's a sneak peek of the first unit I put together today. All fits together as expected. The BB driver is the...

You purchased June 2017. Time sure flies. The FETs are most likely shorted out. I predict a Caldron in your future. ;) The good news is you will have a backup supply. :)

    The "Project" DIY Herbal Vaporizer

The screws and washers are easy enough as can search Amazon for 2.5mm bolt or washer. The 14mm tubing is a little harder as suppliers keep changing. IIRC, I ended up getting from eBay the last time. 14mm OD 12mm ID seamless is the size you want. :sherlock:

To be a little more precise here, and put it to bed. I'm betting you charged it almost daily. Typical Lipo life is 150-250 charge cycles. Thus, charging semi-weekly type usage will get it 2-3 years. So, depending on usage, life can vary greatly.

Alternative to the Induction Heater for Dynavap?

This is what I'd try as the laser target. Copper is still too reflective. A good heat conductor but needs to be flat black to absorb the energy.

You are correct that they have tons of batteries and one might get lucky. However, there are sooo many types that odds are you'll come out empty handed. Size and voltage are the biggest things, then the connector type. I have like 3 boxes full of old power cubes and when I need one. Chances of...

Alternative to the Induction Heater for Dynavap?

I don't think you're going to get great results using that copper tape. It has a glue adhesive which will just burn up and smoke. You would need something more like a clip on black metal. Something like the picture but without the fins. Also, I may be wrong but I think you need more power than...

Alternative to the Induction Heater for Dynavap?

Yes, a black encasement would solve a couple of problems. Not sure how well the heat would transfer from the encasement. Or how fast. Fun stuff. I love near the end where he lights a cigarette. He's actually shooting it up near his eyes. You can see it reflecting off his cheek under his eyes.

Alternative to the Induction Heater for Dynavap?

Intreging but IMO, too many obstacles to overcome to get it to work. 1)Dangers of lasers and would need to be blocked from human eyes. 2)The target needs to be dark or the laser energy will just reflect off. Note that when you see them pop balloons that the balloons are generally dark in...

Yeah, those chargers are not great quality at the connector terminations. I have dissected to see what gives and found it's just a quick spot weld for the thin wire and can break at the weld easily. If you do find one that has a better connector I'm all ears. The best thing to do is re-terminate...

Hey all, for those confused here, which is must of us...:freak: I have officially retired the Jarhead. They made a good run and I will continue to support them of course. However, there is a new guy coming down the pipe to replace it. The Caldron is a basic BareBone driver modular encased in an...

When new, put on the charger for an hour before you use it. Should always top up a new battery before discharging it. It's OK to do a test (or 2) but should not discharge new batteries. As @started@52 experienced, they do generally come back. ;)

No, the JH cannot be used with a "charger". No, the PSM is not recommended to be used as a desktop. Can be used while charging but not a permanent setup. Like a laptop, will work while charging but do not leave on the charger or will have a very short battery life down the road. FAQ Document

Should treat the same way as the PSM. The only real difference is the battery type. Dissasembly is pretty self-explanatory once you remove the screws. This BMS does not have balancing abilities but does have protection if any cell gets too far out of voltage range. Many do confuse this as a...
