You may just not enjoy the anvil signature, which is roasty. The top of the bowl is almost always darker for me, and could add to the roasty taste, even if the rest of the bowl doesn’t look that dark. Great review and as I had suspected. I wasn’t sold on the hype. I didn’t think it would be primarily convection given how weak the stock battery was and how long it was able to last. Convection portables drain batteries like no other. That’s why TM needs high amp batteries and don’t last many...

Anvil is such a one and done device. I would just load a smaller bowl instead of reheating
