@justvapin thanks man, that's good to know (that the straight stems have thinner walls). I have exactly the same issue with @VAPEHUNTER 's cut down bent stems... the restriction is so much more fun with the stock aluminium ones... @PeteSeattle I'd prefer as large an ID as possible, but dunno...

Ok, the stock aluminium stem (with the screen installed) slides into my Supreme 47mm. Personally I'd make the tubing on the glass stem this length :2c:

I'll measure the length of the part of the stock stem that is actually inserted into the Supreme. A bit of it sticks out of the bottom to allow an o ring type glass connector to be slipped onto it. I would "aim" to have the straight part of your stem, before it flares to form the gong, this...

Don't know your vape model either, but as far as temps go, that's pretty low imo (and hence the green bits and lack of visible vapor). With my arizer air (for example) I might start around that temp or a touch higher 190C/374F but will finish off on the highest temp, which is 210C/410F iirc...

Ha, and I'm in the UK so although I'd love to check the stems out asap, it'd be a bit of a long winded process I guess... @PeteSeattle Anyway a thought I had. When you use the stock (aluminium) tube, it has the screen with the handle sticking out. This stops the tube from contacting flat...

I'd originally thought just thickening the tubing wall at the right spot might be easier than a dimple, but think this might just increase the restriction overall... Good to see you're on it man, that test piece looked great :nod:

Yeah I've been gettin into high temps from the off recently. I'll usually pre-heat the block to about 100C, insert bowl/attach j-hook and continue to torch to 180C... might try that 200C with the bowl out next. Usually don't bother with a reheat with these high temps as it's basically not worth...

@dos equis do you move the flame around after the initial pre-heat? I usually move the flame around in circles, pull it away for a moment then move it closer etc, using the heat from the stem as feedback... the flames moving all the time. Always use my lotus dry. Prob easier to judge than...
