    Silver Surfer Vaporizer

The challenge with fixed wattage and low mass heating systems is that the temperature fluctuates widely. Adding some stored energy acts as a damper. Like shock absorbers in the car, it doesn't prevent movement, it just slows it down and makes the ride easier. Energy storage is equal to mass *...

Would this be a good start? Suggestions?

It's a challenge... Comparing an EQ to a VapCap is a bit of an apples to roller skates comparison. Two devices with very different usage patterns. From your description I don't think the EQ is what you want, too big, takes too long to warm up and use, not ideal for microdosing. The vapcap...

    Little insect

I agree and wouldn't relate the presence of an insect to mold worries. Two very different things. Keep in mind that the FDA publishes a table with the amounts of insects and rodent droppings allowed in bulk foods. A limit of zero just isn't realistic... On the other hand I really don't want...

    TinyMight / TM 2

I'm not a TM owner but many others have reported hearing the buzz. It's fairly common in PWM driven high output vape heaters. If the PWM frequency happens to fall into the audible range, or causes resonance in that range, you get a buzz.

    Silver Surfer Vaporizer

I guess I'm grumpy today. :) 7th Floor guys, I'm just saying you have a perfectly reasonable product, expanding on a design doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the original. But, constantly explaining a thing makes people think there are issues even where there are none. My guess is...

    Silver Surfer Vaporizer

He really needs to drop that weird defensiveness. There is nothing wrong with the vape as it is AND there is nothing wrong with people wanting more thermal mass to avoid cool off while hitting. No justifications or excuses are needed on either side.

DIY Induction Heater Builds and References

Here is a list of parts from an Amazon order, you'll find many variations similar to this. This doesn't include a momentary switch (if desired) or a glass tube. Items Ordered Price 1 of: Treedix 5-12V ZVS Low Voltage Induction Heating Power Supply Module with Coil Power Supply Heating...

    Tafée Bowle

Bud opened the bottom of the puck on his stream the other day and you could see it was really well made. In addition to heater design you can see that these guys also understand basic principles of industrial design. The problem with the TM is that he only knows about heater design, the vape...

DIY Induction Heater Builds and References

Here's my random thought for the day: why not build an IH with the coil suspended in the air about 8 inches off the table so you can leave a small water piece under it permanently, you fill the tip, slide it up into the coil then down into the piece and not touch it again until it's time for a...

Fluxer Heaters, induction heaters for Dynavap

@mr_cfromcali, thanks for the info, I thought it couldn't hurt to ask, politely.

Fluxer Heaters, induction heaters for Dynavap

@mr_cfromcali , what is that component in the lower center of the board with the chunk of red insulator over one lead? I would love to see the circuit diagram for this thing if you don't consider it proprietary (which would be perfectly reasonable).

    Studenglass vape

It looks like a 14mm bowl, can't see any reason it wouldn't work with any vape and correctly sized WPA. Definitely would want a big hitter to fill it decently. It's probably too much filtration for realistic individual vaping.

Which are your prefered nicknames for Cannabis?

People on the street pronounce words many different ways, that doesn't change spelling. It will never be correct to write "axe someone a question", even where that is an accepted pronunciation. Just saying. It comes from the way that Humphrey Bogart would leave a burning cigarette stuck to...

    Silver Surfer Vaporizer

Thanks for the ideas. It started out 3/4 of inch below the top which didn't work even slightly (no wonder the previous owner wanted to sell it), I'll try to get it up to within an 1/8. Glass knob is out of position, currently starts at 9 o'clock, but still allows turning up high (6 o'clock)...

    Silver Surfer Vaporizer

Do the ceramic heaters in the SSV wear out or get tired with age? I just bought a used unit and can't get a good hit. At first the heater was too low and wouldn't stay up so I adjusted the bend in the wires underneath so it stays up. The core heats and goes to bright red on its' upper half...

Can you use a preloaded SAI TAF like a cart?

@florduh , @FlyingLow , @arb Thanks for the responses. Yeah, I'll probably hate old concentrate taste even more than day old flower. I guess the only way to know if this can work the way I want is try it out...

    Tafée Bowle

Thank you for that comparison, very helpful. I'm still torn between whether the form factor is brilliant or ridiculous. This is probably the most interesting vape of 2020.

Can you use a preloaded SAI TAF like a cart?

So I'm thinking I want to completely give up using carts, for all the obvious reasons. If a SAI TAF is preloaded can it provide multiple small hits spread over a few hours in a dark (mostly) room without need to turn on a light or fuss over it? Periodic cleaning is OK so long as it can be done...

    Tafée Bowle

Are (were) any of you regular Ghost MV1 users, how does this compare? It seems similar in many ways (not just the crucibles), for good and bad. Is there any hope for replacing the battery? Is it built up from standard cell types or is it completely custom?

Dont know how to make things.

@GI, I can understand your confusion and the overwhelming urge to comment sarcastically on this thread. But, we will be good and kind, kind and good, we will not say what we really think... Oh god, I have to write these smart ass comments on my white board before I explode. :) I hope you...
