Gentle Friends, I've been playing with the vinyl caps used as 'travel caps' to cover loaded stems. I've got a couple of suggestions for modifications: On the left you can see how I cut a short piece of 3/8 ID Silicone tube (a tiny bit longer than the cap is deep). Putting this inside a cap...

Very interesting. That 'slight overcharge' is exactly what I measured on my Air's internal charger. A few times at 4.22, probably averages closer to 4.23, one at 4.25. If that's the plan, it'll give us a few percent more run time (say a minute or two?) but it's gonna kill the cells off faster...

There are lots of lower priced chargers around, but price is not the only factor worth considering I think. For instance, there reports of failure to terminate charge with a member recommended charger a bit ago? Since this is a non protected battery that could be a very serious failure indeed...

Interesting idea. For sure debris can collect under the oven, there have been some scary photos, including blocking the air inlet under the oven. I usually end up taking mine apart often enough so this is not an issue for me personally, but I think it may have merit? FWIW, after I got used to...

No, definitely not. Not because it's sealed or anything like that, but because you shouldn't be blowing that way in the first place. Such action serves no useful purpose I can see. What's the idea? It won't blow anything out of the vapor path of course. There's a wide gap past the oven...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Of course not, still a fun idea. Not the easiest way to make a latch for sure. And the science fits with the other post I was responding to at the time. The odd member that might care for such stuff can enjoy it or not, the rest can glaze over, shake their heads knowingly and move on? OF

Good memory, but not quite spot on in this case. The so call "Curie Temperature" (hubby to Madame Curie of Radium fame in fact) is where the mechanical vibrations (heat) gets so great it overcomes the MMF (Magna Motive Force, what aligns the spins of the electrons to make a material magnetic)...

Perspective, man. You can give half of 'em away to thankful members, lose half of what you have left, damage half of the remainder and still be money ahead. And think of all the fun you can have doing it. You can also hang some on the Christmas tree...... OF

Most of us use half inch vinyl caps, which you can get from PV: http://www.planetvape.ca/solo-vaporizer-travel-caps-2.html The low temperature ones are softer, easier to put on and get off. The high temperature ones are best saved for emergency capping of hot stems. OF

Yup, the OP is the only one I know of, and I've had at least that many. Nor have I read of it here. It's a head scratcher fer sure. Doesn't mean you're not lost, of course...... OF

Right, both times. Tough concepts, harder for some to catch than others I think? Briefly, temperature is a measure of how fast the atoms are moving, either bouncing around in a fluid or vibrating in place in a solid. Get too 'fast' (high temperature) and they no longer stay in place, but melt...

I'm with you there, Lady. I've been pondering on this and it just makes no sense to me yet. I was hoping 'hearing the same words in a different order' sort of understanding would set in. I can see no reason, nor indeed way, for a sudden change like this. There are just too many leaks into...

Should be pretty easy, lots of 'em around. Look for 'laser engraving'. Lots of garage operations (I had some engraving done by a guy 25 or so miles away a few years back, his rig cost him $600....I was his 'break even customer'). I suspect the gear has come down in price (it's basically a...

You're welcome, glad it could be sorted out. While I agree it's expensive I sure don't know enough about it to say how much it's worth (to me). I also suspect there will be quite a few guys who buy it anyway for their own reasons. Strange as it might sound, I suspect a large fraction of...

I just did. No joy. Beats me, could you please post the individual pages? TIA Nope. Too short. Note: "1. Standard USB Charger Cable for EIAJ-02 devices (4.0/1.7mm)" EIAJ-02 spec parts are too short. OF

4 X 1.7mm, but they come in several lengths. Most are standard EIAJ-02 (what Solo uses): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EIAJ_connector However, you want the (somewhat rare, non standard) longer version Air uses. You're welcome. Anything is possible, I guess, but it also wasn't there earlier...

No word on the 'factory charger' yet (that I know of), but I expect it to come next month with the release of the product to distributors. AFAIK they never said anything about a car charger. USB charging is a possibility (at least in some cases). This is the cable I cobbled up to test it...
