If you can't see that an insert drop is ALWAYS going to be an uptemp hit then you're stoned lol. Dnail suggests 350F for SIC and 425F for other materials, to start exactly what I said above. I'm not even sure what you're disagreeing with to be honest :shrug:

I believe technically a quartz insert drop as noted in this threads original post has the longest thermal curve of all since it starts from ambient temperature. That was one of D-nail's main criteria but would be a hassle without an insert as you would otherwise have to start your enail from...

That's just how quartz is when torching. You could try an insert for uptemp drops or an enail coil if you wanted better temperature control. Do you smoke flower?

The uptemp is a wonderful thing. I just set my temp to 600 and push the power button on my PID and wait for the temp to fall to whatever I want to start my hit at, 450-500F, then I press the power button again and start dabbing.

What is the diameter on the quartz dish? I'm surprised to see such a small nail on such a large device. IMO on first glance this will likely suffer the same fate as all portables, not enough surface area in the dish which leads to pooling and higher temperatures needed for vaporization.
