The Summit by Vapium (Formerly MARK 1)

Howdy, welcome to the Forum. I have both, and follow your logic, but think you're wide of the mark with the FM model, try the mini. It too charges from a USB, has several times the battery capacity of the Summit and is the same sort of size. The V5.0S is nice, but way different than Summit...

Excellent post. I agree in most if not all details. I don't, however, think the skills needed to organize such efforts are at all uncommon. They are well known, widely practiced, although as another poster points out not all the time. "Wildcatting" I think he called it? Fun and appropriate...

I agree with you. I sure didn't see any mention of it, and I was watching hopefully for those results. Instead what I think I saw was some serious rework of the concept on the way to the first prototype (the oven/cover reversed???). That prototype was sent out? At that point production...

Yes, many guys use caps. I think PV sells 'em (same thing as MFLB caps), PIU gives you a couple with it? I use the high temperature version, so I can recap the stem hot. I also cut them down to half length so they're easier to snap on and off: You can see the half length cap on the left...

Excellent. Very well put. I while I'm most used to the model where there's also a Beta Release (Production builds the run by the documentation released), sometimes Beta testing is done by Engineering. Good point. In such cases a Pilot run becomes the only test of the design really? But...

Still 'sitting on my wallet'. Good luck with yours.......I'll hold your coat. Always possible, a solid QA program can fix that even at this late date. Hopefully. I agree, and have said so a time or two along the way. This has not been a traditional effort, starting with advertising...

I'm pretty confident they do. It's a complex device, not easy to do. Materials and Manufacturing Engineering (part of the larger 'Corporate Structure') are much more important at this point. The thing is basically designed, the goal is to make it buildable, reliable, and at a low enough...

That's probably their best move right now, at least as I see it. Get really aggressive about solving field returns/complaints. Even if it's slow in getting answers, respond immediately and mean it. Issue RMA numbers, and honestly/promptly deal with inquires in terms of status, etc. Make that...

Let's not forget that field returns are extremely expensive compared to the potential per unit profit. Continuing to ship products that have a significant (usually a few percent or more) return rate will condemn the company to failure. Warranty repairs past 10% of COGS (Cost Of Goods Sold...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Bummer. To me the oven getting warm is not a good sign, but it's also where the battery power is going to (why it won't start up, it can't charge fast enough....). Hopefully the processor has just stalled out. This is about the time I'd be trying a hard reset.......'cept we can't get to the...

How did you first learn FC existed? What brought you here?

For me it started with the 'Card Doctor' recommending vaporizing over blazing. He suggested I look up 'Vapor Genie'. I just followed the advice I found on FC, avoiding 'lesser' Forums. OF

Thanks, bitter experience I assure you....... I agree, it sounds like Matt and Trevor are wearing a lot of hats. However, it's a known danger point if they are involved with both QC (more rightly QA) and either production or design. There should be a clean cut with a 'third party' in on the...

It can be a very awkward transition to make. Making 100s is nothing at all like making one, usually, which is why there are traditional steps taken to deal with these very issues (final design, procurement, assembly, test, QC, inventory control and so on), which are sure to 'pop up'...

Actually there is no white LED. Only red, blue and green. For white all 3 are lit together. The exact shade seen depends on the balance of them (and the guy seeing it). As the Lady says, it's not exact and is an indication only. I wouldn't sweat it, Air i for enjoying? OF
