A lot of us have performed this informal durability test. I even did it on concrete once (that puts a dent in the finish.....). Since the general report is no damage (save a few stems?), I guess the design/quality has something to do with it. There are tougher vapes, but IMO this one's tough...

OK, not completely useless. But it's like covering the bottom half of your car's gas gauge with tape so you can't see where the needle is in that range. You can still tell the tank is less than half full, but when it comes time to figure out if you can make it home without running out of...

I can help you here, Doc. Put an eighth of each in separate vials, labeling each with a code letter. PM me, I'll tell you where to send them. I'll get back to you with the top pick and first and second runner ups by code letter. Secure communications and all that...... No need to thank me...

I've already given my 'take' on it: "Not very well". It's not documented, but you get a color coded flash that tells you if it's 'full' (more than 75% charged), between 50% and 75%, and '50% or less'. The range you need precision in ('how many sessions left?') covers the bottom half of the...

Have you tried adjusting it? Performance in such devices depends on solid gas flow, which in turn depends on pressure of the gas (a function of the exact fuel and temperature). The metering valve can also get choked off by debris and contamination in the gas over time. In all cases, adjusting...

Not all that hard to figure out, based on the size of the VM in the photo I'd say the piles were a bit under 1/8 inch high....... OF

Yep, with you there. I have both and Solo is used more. I don't change batteries in the Air (although I have spares), since it's easy/natural for me to 'keep count'. Air's battery meter is a cruel joke, the part you need to know (is the battery about to die?) is a not so useful single step...

You're welcome. Avoid falling into the trap of looking at the serial number as a model number. It is not. They are not even serial (the maker said as much, they even have 'reused' number series in the past). There are only two models under discussion, those that allow 'use while charging'...

Good call. Soon you too will know that 'what took me so long?' feeling. It takes a lot of happy folks to make 35 thousand posts. Soon you'll be adding to that I'm sure. Congratulations and best regards. OF

I'd pass. I've got one, entirely too big for the target IMO. You'll be hitting wood as well. You want something about 1/4 that size, maybe less. Even dialed down (where the heat is lower but harder to control) it's still way too wide. This is my favorite unit, and at a very attractive...

Yeah, the secret kinda got out all right. We tried to keep it quiet, of course, but hard to keep it under wraps you know. If you like 'outside the box thinking' there used to be a friction driven one. You'd hook it to a doorknob, yank the string a few times, and make vapor. Apparently didn't...

So we'll put you down on the 'glad you got one' side? Enjoy the little rascal. It can do some amazing things but you have to control the action if you want that to happen on demand. OF

I think you meant '....just how old their stock is'? If it's being sold below wholesale it's sure not new stock. Right? What's the old joke? 'Sure we'll lose a little bit on each sale, but we'll make it up in volume'. The 'half priced ESV' I bought a earlier this year was obviously a...

I agree, if nothing breaks it should work fine? My thinking is that a failure of Solo (not just heavy use) exposes a run away mode that backed by fresh batteries can/did cause problems. It might, for instance, save the show if the heater control 'jams wide open'. Or other modes we don't...

I just answered this on PM........I wish that didn't happen (posting the same question twice so I get to answer it twice). The question came without the link so no photo to base an answer on. Here's what I said: Match the colors. Their position in the connector block is 'backwards' from...

When I messed with WTs I used a bubbler, so the downstem didn't come out. I didn't have trouble with it sticking but I also put an o-ring on the mid section (just behind the lip) to make the seal easier. It keeps the wood off the glass. You might try that? OF

Here's another idea for packing bud along with your VM. Get some of these vials, commonly called 'centrifuge tubes': http://www.ebay.com/itm/100PCS-1-5ml-Lab-Clear-Micro-Plastic-Test-Tube-Centrifuge-Vial-Snap-With-Cap-USA-/131599125147?hash=item1ea3eb4a9b:g:kLIAAOSwgNRV75Nd They enough to load...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Interesting. And it makes sense since there's not a 'gray market' out the side door from the vendor making them for you. OTOH, several of the 'sellers' claim to have sold modest numbers, perhaps that's false or represents the orders they've taken and not delivered? One thing sure, this is not...
