O-rings out-gas with heat. They need to be put in places tested for maximum exposed temperature. Cheating is bad. Do look at how much of the o-ring is exposed to the vape path and is there any actual airflow at the o-ring? Calculated risk by manufacturers under normal operating conditions...

They make flameless torches where most uncombusted butane is expelled from the sides and the direct heat is pushed through a ceramic element for more complete combustion. I know it stinks of butane but that might be a little better that a direct flame. Uncombusted butane gives me a headache...

That's what I'm seeing too, 0.1 ohm to 0.14 ohm depending on the hold.

The heat comes from contact resistance. Contact really needs to be solid copper or gold plated copper. Do you have a way to accurately measure the OD of your tank's tube?

The ones I used are mostly copper. But alloyed copper is not nearly as conductive.

I should have stated it simpler... Use the TM as VC log. It's possible if the VC fits in the glass, which I assume it does as the ID is ~12mm, VC is a bit over 10mm w/ cap This technique does require a seal at the top of the draw tube which is simple. Just an option. And no, not just a VC...
