VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

I looked at Keystone Electronics for battery clips. They are more circuit board oriented which is a long term solution. The Chinese ones are very conducive to 3D printing. I'm a minimalist at heart. A single small subdued light should be enough to tell battery condition. This is a basic...

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

I learned to trust the protection circuit as sufficient and robust for flashlights so they are more than good enough stand alone for cells in battery holders. Just remember to use holders that have leaf springs and not coil springs. Most industrial holders are for non-protected cells if they...

It is not if you get it but when at this point. Just hope for one of two things to happened in that timeframe - 1) They come up with something to arrest the pneumonia & 2) The virus mutates to a weaker strain. If none of those work then we have a world culled of the most vulnerable people...

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

In industry, fans are a 50% hit on MTBF calculations, MTBF being mean time between failure. My XTAR charger can push this with convection so let's see. If I'm not mistaken, the FETs in the meter already have a heatsink so that may be sufficient. I have an 18.5V power supply too. Come to...

Funny you should say that  True about the regulator. I feel a lot better about it considering it has capacitors included. I don't have concerns about dirty power as much as I am about a harmonic that could drive the IH FETs batty. With a background in power supplies, this is easy to...

Properly recessed screw; properly treated wood housing; mindful of protrusion of the adjuster dial; updated firmware to allow temp offset; optional quartz outer-tube in the air-path; insight from other user; and the peace of mind that this is now a well reviewed vape that seems to be ticking a...

Beautiful. That should breath a lot better. If that is an '18-M I also spaced the cap from the tip with a strip of stainless steel flat wire bent in an S-shape. Others have filed little scallops in the bowl to let air in like the Ti tips and the '19-M. I still prefer the wire although it is...

...yet. I'm still waiting for KGWoodcrafts @khelek41girl to gain stock. The wait appears to be worth it as improvements to the product are being implemented.

 I have one... I'm thinking to tap into one for the IH VC to manage temperature, but one pointing up at the nail should do well to give you a nail-temp. I'll get another as a sacrificial rube to see if I can get the signal out of it to incorporate in a micro-processor. That is the next...

Not at all. Congrats on kicking the butts. I know the challenge this presents having been a 2-pack user myself. I still see smoking and vaping as different elements introduced to the lungs. With the new variety of buds I've been trying, each has a unique 'wetting' profile. Wetting here...

I don't have the balance board but I needed to do some studying to understand the function better. There are some nuances in these circuits that missed originally. It is good to note that the BMS that the PSM uses is the 10A version. I have not seen any 10 amp readings as yet. When I get the...

Our local news had two good pieces of information if it works out to be true - 1) symptom; persistent dry cough: 2) symptom; temp over 100'F. Vaping and dry cough don't quite go together in my experience. Dry cough also limits expectorant effects. This will be a tough choice.

Yes indeed. I've made a module out of the IH. This, I believe, is the minimalist version of the IH that can be housed in some kind of housing. Still full power capable. I've been switching between 8.4V and 12.6V packs depending on the extraction at hand. Once my orders start landing, I will...

@CalyxSmokr - Extraction has a lot to do with resolve. I can finish a finely ground vapcap bowl in 2 draws to dark ABV. By the same token, I can get 4-5 draws on the same load size if I back off. Counted in reheats - 4-5 is about normal if you are going for a full bake. I am pretty sure...
