Shootout - Herborizer, Evolutions, Vaporfection, SSV, VRIP, Exteme

Sf bay area. Did some more informal testing. The ssv is really showin why so many people think this is the best model that uses whips. Fatter rips, less browning of the herb, leads me to believe the design is more efficient than other whip units like the Vaporfection

    SSV vs. The Extreme Vape

i should have clarified, do you think the SSV with the GG connection is the same as the DBV since the DBV comes with the GG? Is that why the you think the DBV goes thru the bowl quicker?

    SSV vs. The Extreme Vape

That's more than I can do :o Tokin, do you pretty much get the same size hits from the DBV vs the SSV?

Shootout - Herborizer, Evolutions, Vaporfection, SSV, VRIP, Exteme

Max, good point. I have the SSV with the GG attachment so the air flow should be similar to the Extreme, esp since the SSV wand fits into the Extreme cyclone bowl. I thought it would produce similar vapor rich hits because of this, but still the SSV beats the Extreme. I do like the Extreme...

Shootout - Herborizer, Evolutions, Vaporfection, SSV, VRIP, Exteme

Max, no problem at all. Like I said earlier, this is just my opinion. I never said that the SSV couldn't produce clean vapor at all, I just said not as "flavorful" as the Herbo or the VRIP (and if I did, I apologize for the confusion). I know a lot of people come on here and tout one...

Shootout - Herborizer, Evolutions, Vaporfection, SSV, VRIP, Exteme

These are definitely subjective opinions of mine, I'm not denying that. What I meant by clean vapor is vapor that is low in tar and carcinogens, but also vapor that hasn't had it's flavor tainted. I believe whips and bags taint the taste of the vapor which is why I think the Herborizer and...

    extreme in whip mode

You're right, which is why I wrote, the slower the speed the lower the temp needed. I guess it makes more sense in my head than when I type it out. My Evolutions had a fuzzy logic controller in it, I can't tell if it worked or not but was supposed to adjust to the way you took hits. Either...

    SSV vs. The Extreme Vape

Good point, like I said, I have no problem finding the sweet spot but I guess for people that want a more "set it and forget it" type of machine, the learning curve is a bit higher. I don't have a PD but I had one of the original Aromazaps, I'm pretty curious to get a PD but can't justify it...

    SSV vs. The Extreme Vape

I too prefer starting low and getting tastier vapor...It would be nice if the SSV had an on/off switch but it's easy enough to find the right temp without it

    SSV vs. The Extreme Vape

It's just my personal preference. I guess when you are younger, you want the biggest, fattest hits no matter what. I still like big, fat hits but I do see a point where there the thicker the vapor, doesn't always give me the most pleasure. I like tasty, fresh vapor, and when it gets that...

    SSV vs. The Extreme Vape

I can honestly say that you cannot go wrong with either one. My friends are IN LOVE with the bags and the Extreme. The SSV is also popular, I've dialed it in pretty good now. At the end of the day, I took a ice chilled, VRIPtech hit to end the evening. Nice to have some variety and new toys...

    extreme in whip mode

Usually the slower the speed, the lower the temperature because of the duration the hot air passes by the herb. I found that I got extremely milky bags with fan speed 1, almost two milky. I prefer to fill the bag at bag speed 2, I think there is a point where the air/vapor ratio isn't thicker...

    SSV vs. The Extreme Vape

I understand that the limit on the temp is frustrating, I wish there was a bit more flexibilitity with temp as the entire unit is very flexible in it's use. Being that I am only vaping the same material, I don't mind that it is calibrated for herbal medicine that we all love.

    extreme in whip mode

Medivape, try the bag mode, I prefer it much more than the whip mode. The fan seems to do a good job pushing constant heat over the herb to produce some might fine vapor.

Shootout - Herborizer, Evolutions, Vaporfection, SSV, VRIP, Exteme

I think it was Marcuss who wanted to know how the SSV stacks up to the Herborizer. The Herborizer has the advantage in that there is no whip and it goes directly from the glass heater into whatever device you use to collect the vapor. I've connected my SSV to one of my glass pieces with a...

    SSV vs. The Extreme Vape

Yeah, I just wanted to clarify which model for the Extreme. Based on what I read, first gen max temp reads 360, and the newer one's read 260...correct?

    Silver Surfer Vaporizer

Welcome Beezleb, I enjoy this site a little more than the other. Based on what I've read, with the SSV and DBV sharing internal parts, I am recommending all my friends that like my SSV to get the DBV. Most of them prefer the ground glass versus something that they have to rotate, so it makes...

    Silver Surfer Vaporizer

Nice looking SSV, your heater knob looks a lot better than mine. I really love the heating element on this thing. Although I haven't received my standard heater cover/wand, I am really loving this GG connection. Seems like the airflow covers the plant matter evenly, and I've been getting...
