i totally agree.
after buying a setup for a friend and I end up with 2 (dead on arrival) batteries and a 7.4volt ti kiss that won't be used
@nao12000
is there a kit like this in the works yet?
i used them for a while (perhaps 50 or so carts) on an Ophos but i guess they couldn't keep up with my increasing needs.
the Hercules from the same company running at 7.4 volts is a beast of a cart. Surpasses my needs and is designed to be completely disassembled and cleaned by the user...
you can get a few grams of use out of those old style carts if your concentrate is very pure
but every bit of contaminant in your oil will build up, clogging the tiny wick in the bottom.
after you pull out the center contact from the bottom and then remove the rubbery insulator that it was pushed into, the ceramic cup and wire/wick setup will come out the top.
my friend rebuilt 2 of his burned out ti kiss with non-ti wire wick setup from @Sleepin in CA
and is very happy...
i like the effect on the glass when i put a drop of vegetable glycerin in the water of my Nibler/hercules/persei setup. It seems to make the water slipperier.
you need the butane can for a camp stove. mine has a threaded top like that.
the can i have says butane cartridge. it isn't the same brand as the stove.
with the 50 and the 20, i cut the circle about 2 mm wider all around. Then i carefully folded the edge all around and rolled it flat. they came out perfect.
the 10u feels much stiffer so i cut the circle exactly the size of the paper filter.
i finally got around to looking at the new sr74 i got a few weeks ago. I put the rod in my dads sr71 after a cleaning. His oil should stop tasting burned now.
I don't think i like the center pin setup or the threaded top of the sr74 as compared to the 71
i do like the look of the change to...
that is what i went with. and they sent me a free pack of 20 micron.
so far i used a 50 20 10, to winterize and it worked so much better than the coffee filters i had been using.
i stacked the 50 and 20 in the Aeropress and it poured through most of the way before i even put the plunger on...
