    Discontinued Vaporfection viVape

I hear you. Well, that puts that speculation to bed, doesn't it? Although it begs the question then whether that flow continues when the wand is removed. I was admittedly reaching for some logical explanation. That puts us back to square one, because even if the flow is slow with the element...

    Discontinued Vaporfection viVape

I'm a couple weeks late to this discussion, but thought the following might be useful data . . . There were a number of questions and comments re the whip method continuously delivering vapor, could the flow be safely blocked, comparisons in that regard to the Q and Oracle forced air methods...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

@thecragus & @Theo, thx for the replies re the heat and and apparently negligible efficiency effects. I use a 2' length simply because it's most convenient. Anything shorter and I have to be either seated or if standing I have to bend forward which restricts intake.

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

@thecragus has already replied re the glass setup. Fwiw, this looks very much like what 7th Floor sells, i.e., a tree bubbler with a female GonG on top, the mouthpiece is a Sherlock held in place with a Keck clip. You can read abt the elbow pack on the Q's Vaporpedia page, or doing a search...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Nice setup. Question, please . . . looks like you have ~1' from elbow to bubbler. Do you notice any heat (or any other) difference vs the longer whip? I'm using a similar setup to yours with my inline but I only shortened the tube to 2' - I'm sensitive to dry heat. OTOH, for efficiency, I...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Good job! fwiw, I've fabricated a couple of such home-made bongs, too. I cheated by using a beer bong with a pony long-neck bottle. The piece fits over the bottle's mouth, and there is an already attached air tube which passes thru it and down into the water, so I didn't have to cut into the...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Yes, my mid-size bubbler (ref sig) is great for movement. I put ice-water in it and place it in an "ice bucket" (just a tupperware container that it sits easily and safely in) while the Q heats up. After attaching the blown bag, I can e.g. put the bubbler/bag on my desk to sip while I surf...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

That's my experience, too. 15-20 minutes gets the bowl very hot, the elbow very warm. Also pre-heats the herb. I've backed off from the 210c I started off with, now using 190c which with my material delivers great vapor while being easier on my windpipe. :)

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

The stock glass elbow is a male 18 joint. When using the bag, I remove the elbow from the cyclone bowl, pull out the elbow screen, and insert the elbow into the bubbler GonG female. When using the whip, I use a second glass elbow instead of the stock mouthpiece, again just inserted into the...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

You might try Glad Press'N'Seal. It has a sticky surface that's safe (it's used for home food packaging). Just cut a small square or tear off a strip, it wraps the bag mouthpiece easily and is easy to repeatedly take off and put back on. One box will last forever. FWIW, I use the bag with a...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

I'm inclined to have the same perspective; mine is also silent except when I run in on Fan 3 and that is to be expected. Noises that would probably be OK would be either from air movement or expansion/contraction due to heat, although with the former I would want to be sure that wasn't due to...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

This is not a precise science; there are inevitable variables. For example, set the Q on 200 and take casual tokes thru the whip. Then turn on Fan 3 and blow a bag, you'll notice the bowl gets hotter as it runs which affects the vaporization temp as the bag fills. Or, some strains of herb...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

The sensor was moved and the display changed. Here is Arizer's explanation:: "Regarding the different versions/temperature issue - 260 c vs 350 c: We made a slight change in the placement of the heater temperature sensor, we moved the sensor to reflect a more accurate bowl/vaporization...

Thx for the clarification. Do we have a thread for that unit for good ol' Al?

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Dunno how you searched. No matter. AFAIK (I only have used the Q) the tower also works with the bag and has a fan; perhaps there was an even earlier version sans fan/bag (?). You'll notice the thread title is "Extreme Vaporizer aka V-Tower Extreme," from early '08. If memory serves, the...

Over on the Solo thread I thought it saw it mentioned that UPS can be used, maybe that's an option.

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Forgot to answer this one, and it does have a bearing on whatever glass you choose. The Q uses 18/19 (I think strictly speaking it is 18.8 but you'll see it ref'd to as either 18 or 19; same thing). So . . . if using the whip, I can attach GonG with an elbow in place of the mouthpiece...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Just a few thoughts as you explore the flexibility of the Q . . . As you probably already know, the idea with the cyclone bowl is that the air circulates inside the chamber even though the path is up thru the middle of the heat element. What makes this happen is the elbow screen's back...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Tim, glad you're enjoying your Q so much . . . btw, I replied to you question re the AV on that thread. To your comment above, just fwiw (and as I mentioned there), I now use a bubbler with both an 18'' whip and also with the bag attached via a 4" short whip. I wouldn't worry about losing...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Theo, what temp do you leave it on? I've been hesitant to leave herb in the bowl at over 100c for hours lest it slow cook (which of course requires me to re-heat the bowl, almost defeating the purpose). But I am just being cautious; I really don't know. And I don't know how to tell if there...
