Hmmm. This is possible, actually. There is a connection from the clicker to the area of the blue flame. This is a loose connection as it is. Could have rocked out of position, I guess. Also there is a grounding clip that contacts these metal areas to allow the spark to be created. Possible that...

Air in line is about the only reason the thing won't lite. There's gas, and (assuming) there's a spark. Part of the beauty of this system is the simplicity inside. I was surprised at the operation when I cracked it open.

Hmmm. Obviously there's a lot of variability in the vape based on how the bowl is packed also. But you'd know that by now from all the use. Not sure on the temp change etc. It's a solid thermostat based on a bi-metal system, like a old. home thermostat. Should be solid, but who knows...

Mine has done the stuttering also I seem to recall. Sundaddy, that's a good idea on the pumping. I generally fill the butane after the third session.

I wonder, MD. Please keep us posted. There's no "setting" on the thermostat. This is a single temp device.

I admire the iolite rig. Very efficient, compact and simple inside.

Things have been really quiet from iolite. I really just don't think they know what the hell to do. All mouthpieces still soften and detach. All of them. They've made the decision to ship them anyway and just keep sending out free mouthpieces. I guess that's one way to deplete your inventory of...

Lime_joe I think you're right on. This thing requires a lot more finesse to optimize the fun. Pack it wrong and much less efficient vaping. Pack it right and almost as much vape as a bowl.

First, the idea of a better penetrating heat is an excellent idea. I was thinking along the same lines. Since we have old i-inhales, we could go and have something made. Maybe from a more conductive metal. Copper's kinda soft, but maybe brass. I can take another look at the connections. It's...

I've thought about that but that would be tricky as hell. The mouthpiece offers a lot of insulation to the heating and so to be fair, it would need to be in place when measuring. So I imagine you'd have to insert a thin probe through the mouthpiece port all the way to the bottom of the pin...

I get the distinct feeling that they will wind up blaming us as users stupidly breaking these things off. Obviously nothing could be further from the truth.

I believe they mentioned that the first batch of mouthpieces were lathed to get the threads = weaker Then they molded the parts but there was a cooling issue = weaker Then they molded them correctly = stronger. The problem is no one has seen these super mouthpieces consistently, so we're left...

Mac, the metal could be expensive. I'll find out. And for the risk of $20, your solution kicks ass. And it may prove to be the best overall solution while we wait this out. Lime, glad that puppy is working. I still am in love with my unit. I'm a big fan and a big critic.

The iolite guy (he's not around much these days, is he ) previously mentioned that they would not offer a metal piece for fear of burning lips. A very real likelihood. So that's not a solution. I don't see any commercial solution other than changing the plastic type altogether. And...

Hippie, you're meaning you have another vape that's adjustable? Like a Volcano?

lime, The X means they're the new ones. Just curious. As far as not lighting, did you just re-fill? This causes some air to be introduced and it needs to bleed off. Generally waiting 5 min takes care of that.

I believe the temp control is a non-adjustable thing, even at the factory. Current version, that is.

lime. They all do this, apparently. Heat the unit back up so it's hot. This will soften the plastic in the metal threads. Insert something like a very small screwdriver or knife into the threaded area so it is embedded in the plastic. Then unscrew the remaining plastic. You should be good to go...
