True but butane is no longer butane after combustion. The main byproducts are h2o and co2 iirc

Released but not burned... it's released into the air stream that you are breathing in along with the vapor from the bho.

I think when you light a bowl the flame burns up all of the butane so you aren't actually inhaling any butane but if its under purged bho you are inhaling raw butane.
