    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

The downstem has a female 18mm to hold a bowl (shown) or the Q's second elbow joint, and it is diffused. Plus you have ice pinches. So you've covered those bases. You are aware that this piece has a double filtration chamber, yes? (Probably ~1.5oz water below that covers the diffuser, added...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Sorry, I guess I'm not following you. What you are describing sounds to me like the same lower orifice as on my older unit, 2" from the bottom of the tube. Looks like a glass washer inserted into the tube, just like the upper orifice about 1/2" below the lip of the joint. IIRC this question came...

Nice report, vape4life. :) Re the "joint" or "washer", I haven't seen the new units but I suspect it is a retaining ring. The flare on the old bamboo kept it from moving up too far; I think the retaining ring now serves that purpose. Therefore isn't the ring mounted on the outside of the...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

IMO, yes. (Just as a double-check, be good if someone else chimed in here too . . . ) Looks to me like the 18/19 female joint is at the end of the weld on the water bowl. The downstem fits through that joint, extending down into the bowl below the water line. For a glass-on-glass connection...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Not spam at all - exchanging info and asking/answering questions is what the forum is all about. :) About this piece, how do you intend to connect to the Q? Looks like attaching the Q to the bong ground glass joint requires pulling the downstem, so if you want a GonG connection you'll need a...

Thanks for including her, she definitely added entertainment value! Our pom is very similar, just a bit larger and more fur. Same fox-like look, color, and markings though. And the personality. They are a terrific dog.

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

I agree with Stu. Stay with glass if you can afford to, even inexpensive glass is better than acrylic. And re the connection, you need it to be airtight. That means a whip OD that either fits snug thru the downstem (which must be open at the end, so no diffuser) or thru the grommet in place of...

Ouch, that's bare knuckle work for sure. I think a solution bath might be an alternative. Did you refinish the aluminum with any kind of protective coating?

I was one of those that suggested it was an anodized finish. But then when rubbed with a solvent, it appeared to be more like a fired powdered coating. Actually, it could be either. Some anodize finishes can be removed by strong cleaning agents such as Greased Lightning, some require a more...

It probably is best that VXL advise about a removal agent (Troi? SM?) You could try 90%+ ISO or acetone on a small spot; determine if that melts the adhesive residue w/o affecting the Cloud finish.

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

It means you haven't actually got a Cloud. And possible that you're soon to be ~5 bills poorer. :D When you do have one, the dream will become reality - and your EQ moves to back-up position, except when used for the bag. As a passive direct-draw vape the Cloud is in a different class...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Offhand the only accessories I can think of for bag fans is the Tokeez bag. It's considerably larger than the Arizer bag, and very handy for group sessions. A water tool is definitely a good addition (albeit a bit expensive) to a vape setup, even with the bag. Bag vapor tends to be harsh. A...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Glad to hear that the bag is now working out for you. Just let me suggest that while it's fine to tap the Cyclone down to settle the contents, "packing" the herb down will reduce air flow and vapor production. And as Stu reminded, it's important to stir; I probably do at least 3 or 4 stirs for...

IMO packing it down works against the turbulence designed into the ELB, reducing the air circulation and extraction. Especially with a larger load. (A few little taps on the table is OK though.) Some have posted that they even give the ELB a shake or a stir mid-session.

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

IMO, yes, the elbow pack doesn't work well for the bag, the Cyclone is the only way to go. Even Fan 3 won't move air thru a pack as you want it to, and you'll get a hot spot, too. Stirring the pack helps, but what's the point? The Q's design intent for bags is to use back-pressure from the elbow...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Re combustion, when you pull hard with the Q set ~230C+ you are getting in the neighborhood, although IIRC most here who have reported combusting have been closer to 260C. Apparently doesn't happen often, but then again how many are using max heat? To get a good cloud in the bag . . . What...

Re the 'cano being a big hitter vis-a-vis the Cloud . . . You can get big hits off any good bag machine as long as (a) the unit delivers very dense vapor into the bag and (b) you take a long pull. With the Cloud, or other big hitting passives like the SSV, you will get more density with direct...
