    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

The tubes were tightly wound, but AFAICT not fused. I notice that the small flair at the bottom of the tube that acted as a stop, seems to not be there now. This reminds that VXL is using a different supplier for the heater assembly; it is now a component provided to the final assembly...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

I occasionally get condensation with my hydraline when using cold water and ice. The interesting thing is that I've checked that there is no moisture at the bottom, and of course the hydraline design really helps prevent water from getting out the bottom, but after removing it from the Cloud...

It is tightly wound, in effect coiled, without spacing, around the mid-section up to the lip of the joint. The heater itself is threaded inside flexible conductor shielding. It is not fused to the glass.

No, you're right. I should have worded that better. What I had in mind is that taking apart the tube/heater/jacket assembly, especially if the tube has already been damaged, can result in a mess of very fine glass shards mixed with other material. Be extra careful. Thanks for catching that.

About the "wiggle" (or lack thereof) . . . without getting into too much detail, the heater wraps the tube mid-section in such a way that the glass can withstand thermal effects (as Troi ref'd in an earlier post). That slack also permits to tube to move slightly up or down. If the tube doesn't...

I wonder if it may also be heading FC's way, too. Google returns FC near the top of any search with the terms "cloud" and "vaporizer". Is this a proverbial blessing in disguise?

Just to add a bit to VapeNStone's reply . . . you'll find that the Cloud extracts better at yet a lower temp. I use my Q at 190c, and find that 10:30 or eve 9:00 on the Cloud gives me as much even more vapor yet it feels significantly cooler and smoother. So I suggest starting at 9 and working...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

IIRC there have been about a half-dozen technical issues in the Cloud that VXL has needed to address since beta. AFAIK all have been fully worked out, except for the high temp on the shield for which the sleeve is a workaround. A very significant change mentioned only in passing recently, is...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Other than the Pax, the three products you cited are all very mature cash-cows. The extra time in those warranties cost those companies next to nothing, and are a revenue booster targeted at folks just like yourself. If those were the warranties at introduction, the info above may explain why...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Warranty is commonly misunderstood, and manufacturers prefer it that way. For sure, it has little to do with "faith". Warranty is driven by marketing strategy and two costs, the cost-of-goods and overhead. A small company with a new product has little idea what its true warranty cost will be...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Sounds like you may need to experiment with grind, pack, and technique. I'm not being facetious, it's just that this is much more art than science. For example, note Kommy's comment re drying the herb; if your herb is not sufficiently dry (or wasn't cured well) the vapor will be much thinner...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Don't pack too tight, just enough so the herb doesn't fall out. Gently stir at least once. And you need a strong pull; you'll know if you're getting a fairly dense cloud.

Thanks. I take that to mean least effort, most effortless. I can vouch for the misty splash from pulling hard w/o ice, with practice I've learned how to avoid that (although most of the time I use ice anyway). The extra filtration the Double provides would be nice, but it's gonna take a lot...

SliM, in your comparison you didn't mention the HydraLine. How does the double compare in terms of drag? I find the HL effortless, a huge plus for my windpipe/lungs.

It would not be surprising that VXL has been surprised, too - and also unpleasantly so. The technical, regulatory, transaction, and financial hurdles can be daunting and, given external dependencies, require a lot of time which also translates into a helluva lot of overhead. In fact, the...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Don't worry about the electronics being in the path; the heater wraps the exterior of the tube's mid-section and the everything else is at the bottom behind the switch. Re a new ELB, use your Q's elbow to train it; it will be tight but IME with a little veg oil and patience it will fit, and...

I didn't say that. I have never used one of the HT trees. From the description of the trees posted here and others' comments, I strongly suspect I would prefer the inline. But I certainly can't be sure.

I also have difficulty seeing the slits, but I think they are there. I have another inline, a Headford donut bubbler with 11 gridded slits. I like it, it is about as smooth as my Hydracirc. The Hydraline diffuses superbly and is super smooth - noticeably better than both my Headford and the...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

I didn't realize you were outside N. America. There is a lot of discussion in this thread about an inverter for international use, including IIRC 1 or 2 users who broke their units this way. VXL has an international version of the Cloud in development that requires no inverter; no availability...
