For a period of months I had my control dial taped down dial at 6.5 and and then just shifted my draw rate to control the cook. However I am now trying to turn my vape into a one hit wonder by cutting the load and jacking the heat to between 6.5 and almost 7.

I agree with KidFated in that a stir between hits works well, thats why there are hat pins (hatpins?) included in most 7th Floor vapes.

If I grind too fine (MFLB finishing grinder fine) I have to pack the load a little bit more then ordinary to keep the load from falling onto the heater screen. When the packing has failed and the load has fallen onto the screen it hasn't burnt or caused any problems, yet.
