The packing is huge. I have my herbs in a jar at 60-62% RH. Fully cured, but not super dry. So when I load a fresh oven, it shrinks from the sides after a couple hits. I just re-pack with my pinky without turning after a couple hits. BOOM!

Actually, the Pax is more efficient than you think. You are doing something wrong. Try packing a 1/2 oven with finely ground and dry material. Pack it, pack it. Set it on medium. Hit it slow. After a couple hits, turn off, push the load to re-pack (it shrinks initially) and turn it on again.

Look back a few pages. It's discussed frequently and some mighty kind people posted some excellent instructions, photos and videos of this exact process.

I cleaned mine today, just because I wanted to. It's such a sweet looking device that I don't like to see gunk on it. I even took steel wool to the original screen. The only area that I clean regularly, however, is the spring area and (original) mouthpiece. I would say my attention to that...

I like the idea of a bristle + cotton. That little added scratch from the bristles seems like a good idea.

Dreamerr I'm curious, so correct me if I'm wrong here. You don't have a Pax and I believe you've stated many times you don't intend to get one, so why hang out here with the rest of us? It's a free country, certainly, but it seems odd to me.

If we look at all the Cannabinoids that can be vaped off, some vaporize at lower temps. So if you had some herbs that were strongly a head buzz to begin with, you'll likely do better vaping that on low. If you have some heavy body buzz herbs to start with, that will probably need to get to...

I just removed the spring. It was very clean. I cleaned the outside of that steel tube also, but I have used that dental brush with Iso a couple of times, so I'm thinking that's been working. Spring comes in and out pretty slick, but there was no need for me.

Shimp- Clean with Iso while cool and you'll be fine. I have the same brushes and they rock with 99% Iso Dammit, nice reply. The design is worth the small trade-off. Those that don't appreciate it should move along.

Bags won't stop a dog due to nearly inevitable surface contamination. I use bags to keep my dank from human noses.

That's the fact

I don't charge upside down any longer. Charging doesn't heat the unit, so there's nothing to flow. Besides, my vapor path isn't full of resin ever.
